[ukvac] Arcade Classics cocktail----->POS
For the first time last night, I played one of those "Arcade Classics" cocktails...ewwww!

It was running versions of stuff like SI, Galaxian, PacMan, Frogger, Pong, etc...all on a 14" horizontal monitor.

I'm sure there has been discussion on list before re: these things, but I'd never played one.

What OS do these run on? Not MAME, surely? Some kind of proprietary multigame system?

Some of the games just seemed kind of wrong somehow...

They are not emulated but simulations.
The platform is the maygay fruitmachine mpu board with
a graphics board bolted on. Pure crap basically

anytime i happen to have bumped into one of these in a pub its turned off (2
or 3 times now),
when questioned, the bar staff, always say, that things always broke, keeps
overheating or something.......

i guess some of the games would look weird, as the monitor orientation is
incorrect, therefor a vertical game would appear quite small as almost half
the screen is wasted.
