Intriguing Space Invader photo.... The clear section of the bezel is portrait instead of landscape. That kind of suggests is was used directly over a screen (like some of the Part 2s) rather than in front of a reflected image.
Also of note - as far as I know Taito Space Invaders (incld Deluxe and Part 2) always had the player 1 and 2 buttons positioned horizontally. The bezel here indicates that they were positioned vertically.
My hunch is that is was created for a bootleg machine. But it's just a hunch... and wouldn't take anything away from this being a very cool find.

Very nice haul! You're right about the Seattle boards used in those Carnevil cabs. A local op I know had the 34" version, I think he went through 2 or 3 pcbs. Sold the cab in the end! Shame really as the game isn't that bad. Stu at Timewarp Arcade had similar trouble with his Vapor TRX as they use the same model/type of board. I ended up converting an NFL Blitz board to Vapor TRX for him, that didn't last very long either!
To be honest Steve, the Mame emulation of it is just about spot on these days so putting in a decent pc with it on (my Core I3 pc has the occasional sound stutter playing it) would be a better bet i'd say! Not sure how the lightguns would interface to it but there's bound to be a way.bonehead said:
