Had this since 2009! and never got round to properly doing anything with it! but now decided it's well overdue, had problems with it working and work has been done to get it going, but it's failed again! Guddler has been kind enough to offer his help with the board, thanks Martin, your a star!

thinks that have been done

new edge connector
repair to 5v regulator on AR and all new caps
screen had issues which were resolved with resoldering the pins on the deflection board, I have a new kit waiting to be fitted from Bob Roberts.

Back door was missing but have sourced a door which I made fit with a trim and looks good.

Cab is not too bad, damage to right and front bottom and some damp swelling to those areas, will reveal more as major work has started already to the sides!

This is a woody cab from Ireland and will stay that way. more to follow

Pics below are old, I have some new one's of work done so far, more work needed than I thought as you will see!

I started the cosmetic work properly on Monday at the worst bits the right side and front. Most of this was caused by it being dragged about (not by me) with the leg levelers being screwed right up, they too were rusted solid and have been removed, new one's ordered.

In hind sight I should have replaced the whole side! but had done to much to the bottom when I realized the top was just too far gone so had to amputate an ear and the top panel

The front panel had already been filled but was not a great job, this has black formica which was all chipped at the bottom, so I cut a strip back and will fill the wood below and put some chequered plate in it's place as a kick panel then paint it black. run out of filler just now, used more than I thought I would need on the side.

For the wood sides I ordered a close match of DC-Fix vinyl supposedly top quality but it's not near as thick as the stuff on the cab! I did consider using Formica but thought it would make the sides fatter that the t-moulding but that would have been much harder wearing! I will try this stuff but the chipboard sides will need to be super smooth and even or it will look sh*t!

Been chipping away at this over the last few days, got the front panel filled and chequered plate cut fitted and painted, but dust is everywhere but you get the idea

The side has been stripped to bare wood chip filled sanded and 2 undercoats applied, just needs a sand the ready for vinyl to be applied, the other side is in much better condition so I will leave the vinyl on, just give it a scuff and apply new vinyl.

Cool looking forward to it!

I remember when I got this, drove to some guys house in Surrey as a keen 18 year old with my mate and picked it up with a Space Invaders Part II and 2 Space Invaders.

He was storing them for his brother that got them from an arcade.

When I got it home it worked but the screen was screwed up, so I won a NOS XY monitor from the USA and shipped it over (which cost $$$$$$$$)..

When it finally arrived I swapped them over and the same image was displayed :( I was gutted :( I then swapped the power brick over with a really nice Centipede one I had and the game worked perfectly. I was stoked!

I then looked at the original monitor and swapped them back.. And the game worked perfectly! ARGHH I spent about £500 on a NOS XY and shipping for no reason!

Glad you are restoring her - I stopped half way, I actually replaced the entire speaker section as it was badly messed up - don't know if you can even tell, I did a really good job on it, had it CNC cut! :)

Nice to get a bit of history on it, cheers for that, the chassis does look low mileage but it had it's problems with cold solder joints on the plugs! I'm going to re cap it also as bought the kit anyway. apart from that it should be good to go once I get the other side done, I'm regretting not buying new t-moulding ! already fitted back the old stuff on the other side and used hot melt glue! might get nasty trying to get it off again.
