Quick tinker.
Was getting nowhere in sorting out the display then realized I had got the video out and video GND mixed up.
Looks like it doesn't display properly when you do that. Now I have this:

It's showing fine but pictures of CRTs never come out that good.
No sign of the ball though.
Managed to credit and start a game but still no ball.
And the paddle is off the bottom of the screen.
Either the serve button isn't working or bat and ball need fixing. Will have to try the sound as well to see if that gives anything.

Wires up a serve button and now the ball is appearing. Must have been touching the wrong pin before.
Traced the missing bat to a bad LS30 at K3 that decides if the bat is a solid white line across the bottom for attract or a proper bat for gameplay.
Now need to wire up controls. Strangely I can start a game without adding credits so will have to look into that and get sound sorted as well.
