[ukvac] Attack UFO? Anyone?
Hi guys,

I had an email the other day asking for more info about my
Attack UFO cocktail (now enjoying a happy retirement in
the west country). Now my PCB's went off to Al Kossow a
while ago, but I'm sure that I saw a set on ebay a few
months back.

Did anyone on the group pick these up? If so, can you get
in touch with me or email Trevor on trevorg75@earthlink.net
direct as he's having some grief. Copy of his email attached
below...

Cheers
Chris

This cabinet is a mystery for me and I am
curious to solve it. Got it pretty much for free and figured out what it
was. None of the instructions are inside but we could make out a name on
what used to be the instruction sheet. The machine fires up and the screen
is green and sometimes yellow. We sometimes get static through the speakers
and one of the player lights light but nothing else. We think the PCB is DOA
but are not sure. Any help is appreciated.

Chris,

Is this the same game as "Attack of the Red UFO" or "Red UFO" that runs
on Galaxians hardware? If so, I have the cartridge for this game on my
Artic cartridge system.

Regards,

Paul.

RE: [ukvac] Attack UFO? Anyone?
Hi Paul,

No, this thing was/is a third division space invaders clone.
Not quite up to minky monkey standards, but still pretty
rubbish. Game was in colour, but the PCB only had two
video outputs. I always assumed that the color decoding
was done on the monitor PCB somehow? (Then again, maybe
I was just missing something really obvious - but not
an overlay, it wasn't that obvious...)

Mine was playable when I pulled it, but had big interference
problems. It's a very odd little boardset, there's a tiny
(about 6" x 4") main PCB with 1/2 dozen roms on it, a small
sound board/amp and that's it.

Cheers
