Well this was a bit of a mad one and was certainly a change from the usual barns and dusty Op workshops!

We managed to grab some machines from a construction company, who were in the process of clearing land for a property developer. The machines used to be owned by a fairground / circus owner and had been stored in containers for several decades.

I thought I'd try something a bit different and made a video of the days antics.

Very cool, a real oddball mix of stuff in there. I was gonna say that unidentified pcb is street fighter 1, but then it flashed on screen :p non-pneumatic version.

Some real work required on them but hopefully something comes out alive :)

Video is great, but you can't beat a few pictures too, should stick a few up

Nice Haul. Good to watch the vid and well done not moving the camera around at 100mph like I always do so I can't see anything properly when I watch it back.

Great job! You certainly don't see Mechanized Attacks come up very often at all! Would be lovely to see that up and running again. Always interesting to see the pre Neo-Geo SNK stuff.

Out of interest how do raids generally come about, is it word of mouth or just luck sometimes, or a lot of effort!!. Also how does pricing work when you have no idea if even working or not. I remember the raid on the ship, was quite a logistical nightmare. Just wondered how smaller raids tended to get started. I should think the number of raids slowly diminishes. Unlike the fake car barn finds !!Venom2022-07-30 12:50:22

Thanks for all the kind words. It was an awesome day, although my body was aching for about two days after. Hats off to Martin who does this day in day out.

It's a shame the Simpson's cab was skipped before I got there, but I'm grateful for what I did manage to salvage.

Yeah I think your right, we even considered stripping it there and then for parts, but managed to get it home in (almost) one piece.

Yes definitely, as a massive SNK fan it's awesome to see. I may have to move this one on though as I also have a Beast Busters, and don't really have the room for both.

Would love that Cab with the WonderBoy marquee!

If your interested in the cab message me, I've got too many projects and could do with reclaiming some space!

Sometime it's a lot of effort, sometimes just luck, being at the right place at the right time. I once made an enquiry about old machines they had back in the day in a local pub, and the person I contacted had nothing to do with the pub, but just so happened to live in an old bed and breakfast guest house with some machines in their basement!

I used to call Ops and make enquiries, maybe one in fifty I'd get a lead. It can also be as simple as seeing something for sale and asking if they have anything else. Pricewise, it's just a case of making an offer your happy with and taking it from there. I normally give a price based on the items being not working / untested. Old machines and boards are getting harder to find though and some Ops have seen the rise in popularity and have unrealistic ideas regarding pricing. It can also be frustrating when they use ebay to reference pricing. "Yes mate, I've got an original Space Invaders cocktail, I've seen them on Ebay for £10,000."

Also it's worth noting that you have to be very patient with some Ops, some deals have been years in the making.

If if was a UK Simpsons cab its were it deserves to be, definately the (much) ugly sister of the American cab.
