That is impressive, I can't deny, lots of these A.I. ports are appearing everywhere. Even better that this one's open-source!

As a nerdy engineer, I find the concept of decompilation fascinating as I imagined using A.I. and Ghidra will come up with something that helps you see into the inner workings of the games. Makes me want to see if I can port some 80's games to Pi Pico's etc.

Sadly if it comes up with code like this, I've got no chance:

edit: to re-iterate, all for the emulation, just wish the code wasn't gibberish so it would be useful for understanding how old games were written.
In fact it's great that this isn't some Patreon cash-job.

It's funny, barely any time after I put Galaxian³ code on the MAME Github and I see Teknoparrot talking about emulating Galaxian³.

'Written from scratch' .... yeah, of course. It is in no way whatsoever A.I. harvesting what's out there and doing all the heavy lifting

So on that basis, all power to these free open source emulators. And maybe one day they can make the code readable.

Only thing with all these it looks like I'm gonna have to have windows 10 on the machines
Any good options for stripped down versions of 10, I was happy with Win7 for the games machines but what can ya do

I suspect best to enjoy it while it lasts as it's surely all going to get stamped-on for copyright infringement soon o_O

edit: It's interesting looking at the source code. Killer Instinct looks like an emulator, so that's probably ok.
HOTD looks like they/A.I. have converted all the gameplay code into C++.

Here's a good one - Konami Viper. I'm down to my last working PCB so relieved that GTi Club 2 has this recomp:

https://github.com/spita90/konami-viper-recomp

I've built the Windows version so PM me if you want help with this. It only supports GTi Club 2 and Thrill Dive 2 at the moment.
I've also added FFB and support for my Logitech Pro wheel through the magic of AI. I also tried to get rid of the rubber banding of the AI cars and make them more competitive, but that hasn't worked yet.

Seems to be an explosion of A.I. Neo Geo Ports:

Can't say I'm convinced.
They're not adding anything new and many are full of issues the 'authors' don't understand and can't fix
I wonder if it's likely to make people who could've done a better job not bother.
The CPS->Neo resolution decrease doesn't look so bad in some games at least.

I thought I ought to have a go myself and I've spent the last two days adding extra modes and features to GTi Club 2/Driving Party with Claude Code, based on the recent static recomp. So far I've added multi lap races, ghost car in time trial, reverse course races, a 'grand tour' mode (chaining all three courses together as one (almost) seamless race, 4k resolution, got rid of the stupid rubber banding on the AI cars (which now aim for target lap times), super tuned up cars, etc etc. I'm working through the list of stuff I've wished this game had over the years and got all this done within a free trial! My last coding experience was about forty years ago copying pages of Basic into my Oric Atmos to get new games. I've got lots of reservations about AI like most people, but this has been pretty amazing.
