[ukvac] defender on ebay ??
Guys
Looking for some advice here , you may have a noticed a defender
upright for auction on ebay at the moment . This guy also has
another space invader . Both machines seem to be in nice
condition .Problem is that he has very little ratings as a dealer
and i was wondering if anyone has bought a machine of this guy and
if so have you any good or bad stories to tell . My own impression
of the guy is that hes ok but im just trying to do a bit of homework
here . Also the defender seems to have a lot of reproduction stuff
on board , such as joystick coin door , marquee , control panel .
Question is this likely to have a downward effect on the price given
that its not 100% original . I may be wrong on the repro stuff but
it just looks to clean .
What is a fair price for this machine ??
Also how easy r the boards to source working ??

Oh and Philip if you are in here reading this then im sorry mate but
you cant blame me , just doing a bit of research .

Hi Paul, yes I am reading your mail! Ok I can tell you without a doubt the coin door, joystick, marquee, the control panel, bezel, are 100% genuine. The only thing that is repro is the control panel overlay which is identical to an original.

I dont blame you asking for advice mate, just had to put that straight about the repro stuff.

Can easily be fixed by using 'stabilizers' though...

Pobster (completely non-offensive joke...)

Well seeing as you've currently got the highest bid you really *should* be
thinking along those lines (although if you think 1700 is a fair price you
should have got in earlier for the BIN of 1500 :))

I'll admit I get those sort of days too but I don't usually think fuck it
and put in 1000+ bids :)

Doh - there I go again giving too much credit to the human race in general!

Yeah of course it's a windup for anyone who didn't spot it.
