Been a long time since I wrote up a raid! This was quite a nice one, not too far away and an op we know well who's happy for us to rummage through everything. Like all ops it seems nothing gets binned...they keep all the fruities and broken psu's but skip the rare cabs and pcb's

A few unusual cabs here. Ring Riders and some other stuff.

dvr7.jpg

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice bizarrely this Scud upright has a mint OutRun wheel on it.

dvr2.jpg

Scud twin. Passed on this as it had some faults and unpleasant anti-damage modifications to the steering.

dvr3.jpg

Random bits and pieces

dvr4.jpg

Egg Venture (bought that - originally a 4-player jamma cab) and Big Buck.

dvr5.jpg

Maximum Force

dvr6.jpg

Spares room literally filled to the door.

dvr8.jpg

Started pulling out bits we wanted

Nice vintage scope

dvr9.jpg

A sh*t load of monitors, all complete. I'd say in lines 5-7 across, 5 rows deep.

dvr10.jpg

Very rare Thunderblade DX controls. These were in excellent condition.

dvr11.jpg

Some boards and stuff

dvr12.jpg

Virtua Racing stack. Other parts from the cab were here too, got the dash and pedals.

dvr13.jpg

Pair of Ridge Racer control panels in decent shape + the pedals.

dvr14.jpg

dvr15.jpg

Star find of the day was this. A fully loaded Playchoice-10 mobo with some cracking games.

Great stuff!
Always fascinating to see behind the scenes into an ops storage area.

Just one question tho... Will the Virtua Racing stuff be up for sale and how much shall I sell one of my kidneys for? ;-) :-D

Great report and pics, it looks like you found some nice bits there. The monitor stash, Virtua Racing gear, Thunder Blade parts and PC-10 mobo and games are awesome finds.
smiley20.gif

It's always a bit gutting when see see a warehouse full of fruities, and the Op tells you about the cabs they broke up, smashed or used for fire wood.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with the Egg Venture cab.

Part 2 - next lot. tb2000 Tony and myself went back and picked through another area a week or so later. Loads of stuff was just chucked in a huge pile with no real clue as to what was in there....and it contained some awesome finds.

There's a minty Space Invaders Taito cocktail hiding here.

dvr20.jpg

And then USA Pacman cocktail buried under some stuff.

dvr21.jpg

Lots more parts and stuff to look through

dvr22.jpg

Head torches on and diving in to the piles of stuff. This gives you some idea of what we had to work through, taking out selected bits and making space to clear more areas and check what was in there. There's a SNK trio of guns here probably from Beast Busters or something.

dvr23.jpg

Getting deep in to the pile.

dvr24.jpg

Huge pcb

dvr25.jpg

Turned out to be a rare Atari T-Mek board that after a little fiddling was fully working.

dvr26.jpg

Then found a crazy rare Sega SDI complete control panel in decent condition. I've only ever seen 1 cab.

dvr27.jpg

Ahhh....I know what that's from!

dvr28.jpg

Another pcb pulled out...hmmm that's not what I think it is surely....

dvr29.jpg

The manual fell out of the middle and confirmed it. Another amazing find.

dvr30.jpg

I don't know which game this is from - I'd thought Thunderblade but may be wrong there.

dvr31.jpg

Some pcbs, I haven't ID'd all of these.

Don't know what this is.

dvr32.jpg

Or this.

dvr33.jpg

Super Pang

dvr34.jpg

A very rare Taito board 'Gokidetor' which is a kind of whack-a-mole ticket game.

dvr35.jpg

More stuff

dvr36.jpg

All the control panels from this trip.

dvr37.jpg

dvr38.jpg

dvr39.jpg

dvr40.jpg

If anyone sees anything they want drop me a pm, there's only a few bits I'll be keeping.

Give me a shout if you want to convert the Playchoice Golf and Tennis to better games like Duck Hunt, Mario Bros or Balloon Fight.

Or of you want me to test the games and the PCB in my cab.Nes4life2019-09-07 19:13:43

Yep,
all that is for sale. Got one control panel, 2 sets of pedals and the
pcb stack. I'll see if I can hook up the power and video and test the
board too.

Nice
one cheers. Good to know those can be converted, would much prefer
those games! I have a PC-10 cab due to arrive soon so it was a really
lucky find.

How much is he after got the space invaders cocktail?

Cabs are being bought as a job lot, so can't say for sure yet. I'll let you know.

Nice one. Any mvs games in that haul?

None so far, but there's more to come. I've never done a raid yet without ANY mvs stuff so I'm sure something will show up

Yeah that's the plan next, need to find my eprom reader and see what they are. I've used up my luck with the PC-10 and Nemesis so probably a Football Champ and Pocket Gal bootleg

Some nice finds, there. There seems to have been a few raids in the past where a Nemesis has been found. Maybe that's why they're in short supply. All stashed away in op lock-ups!
smiley36.gif

P.S. The first pic is a bit disturbing. The chap in the top-left with his back to the camera looks like the top of his head is missing!

Nice raid mate!

I can imagine how Tony's van looked like after loading all those monitors up.

wow.. on my doorstep in Devon?

I got a broken VR twin right now, need a Nauno MS28/29? monitor chasis (or complete with tube) and the power supply to power the CPU board somehow is now weak which normally sits under your feet.

Do you have these for purchase?
