Overpaid is the answer, I only ever looked at the front photo, can't believe that's not the one he was actually selling, he says Double Dragon in his listing, which would make you think its that first picture. Pull out and avoid, you overpaid for sure on it. That however is the norm on ebay, until you join up with the UKvac and J+ and other arcade sites, you are unlikely to know the true values of things and whats a good or bad buy. Pull out on this one, get your money back and hang out here, your bound to find what you are looking for :)

So, in this situation how do you get your eBay refund? There are too many inconsistencies with his listing, whether or not the cab is worth it is irrelevant, you overpaid as a result of a fraudulent listing.

The price was driven up on account of people bidding for something that it was not - therefore you paid too much and the seller was misleading.

In this situation I'd have no compunction over getting my fees back and putting in a complaint. If you don't you'll probably resent that cab and jamma games from now on.

I'm sorry that this happened but I'd step back from the brink... and let this joker dangle.

I think in this case the seller wasn't deliberately trying to screw someone over, he just didn't know what he was doing. It wasn't the greatest listing in the first place, and he clearly googled the game and copied the first picture he found. Unfortunately, the pic he posted was of a converted Robotron cab.

After receiving many messages no doubt, requesting further pictures, he took some himself (they were crap too) and tried to put right his auction. He didn't do a very good job of that either.

Crap seller. Not a crook, perhaps just a bit dim.

But there's a lesson here, as a buyer of anything on eBay, make sure you know exactly what you're buying. Especially when parting with several hundred quid.

Paypal dispute with seller

"Hi m8 I wish to withdraw from the purchase. There's too many inconsitinces on your part. I wouldn't have bidded so high (neither would most prior to me either) if you didn't originally put up a PIC up of a machine that wasn't the one being sold. Iv been told 1 or more people have already reported your listing to eBay because of this so I need to ask for a refund due to this. I will pay your 5% eBay fees if needed as I don't wish to leave any bad feelings

Thank you"

I sorta gave him benefit of doubt but If seller doesn't accept I will take it higher.

There will no doubt be loads appearing on eBay this weekend with the free listing. There's a couple on now around £200 for sale by ukjamma. (A guy off jamma+) his delivery guy charges £85 worth a punt then buy some games off here!

Or you could buy 400 South Coast Slam raffle tickets and get a lovely cab and pinball (well, a chance to!).

I think you've made a good call, and the offer to cover the fees is a nice touch - I reckon it'd be very difficult for the seller to feel slighted here.

i wouldn't give him the 5% fees - at the end of the day he put up a picture of a different cab to the one he was actually selling - intentional or not you are not at fault in this so why should you be out of pocket?

I agree with Chubsta here, if the purchase is reversed he'll get his fees back anyway (except the listing fee) and he is in the wrong here. Different cab to original picture, PCBs missing etc.

Fair enough, I wouldn't offer the 5% either, but it'd certainly smooth stuff over. I suppose the botton line is that the auction was misleading (intentionally or not) and on that basis the buyer shouldn't have to pay anything.
