Donkey Kong Jr Monitor Issue

Hi,

Got a lovely DK Jr which has started developing a weird monitor fault after about 2 hours of being on.

It’s like the picture has moved half a screen down.

If you turn it straight off and straight on it’s absolutely fine again but will happen after a short time again.

Any idea what’s causing it?

It could be a cracked trace, possibly on the adjustment pot, on the horizontal circuit. Does it fix the problem if you flex the chassis PCB?

This transpired to be really easy. I tweaked the Horizontal hold and it’s been fine ever since.

The problem was initially I couldn’t find the pot as it wasn’t on the panel to the left hand side of the monitor.

But there’s a cheeky one tucked away around the other size not on the control board but the chassis. Hidden on its own. Tweaked that and it was fine.
