Double Dragon bootleg

Ok strange question.

I have a bootleg double dragon that plays so slow it’s almost unplayable.
I know the original pcb was renowned for being slow but thought the bootleg was a much faster version.
Is there anyway it could be speeded up like a faster processor for example? Would the crystal speed it up a little?

There are multiple bootlegs of double dragon, 1 I believe has additional processors to speed it up to normal speed, and stops slow down.

As it is, the original is rubbish to play these days. Great game without the slowdown.

If it's the single layer they are awful.

It’s a double layer pcb. The slow down is almost unplayable with 2 player and a couple of baddies on screen.
