[ukvac] Ebay grief, yet again...
I've got a US buyer complaining that £30 is too much for p&p... Well...
To be honest, I'd complain too as that *is* extortionate but that's
exactly what the post office told me airmail would be? The package is
2.25kg, so does anyone have any ideas on how I can send this cheaper?
The main problem I'm having is that he says he bought a PCB from Andy at
Ultimarc and only got charged £10 p&p (sent through DHL and arrived
within a week!)... I tried a quote on DHL and the price came to
£180!!!! What do I do?!?!?!!!

Maybe he bought ages ago? Prices jumped up to almost twice the price
about 3 years back. I used to buy and sell a lot to the US, stopped
doing it as much after that.

Anyways, send him the link to the calculator and get him to enter the
weight and destination so he can see you aint messing with him. Just
ask him where you can get it send for 10 as you don't know, play dumb!

Plus of course, the dollar is so crap against the pound, that equates to
something not short of $60.
So a bit stupid for Americans to be buying anything from the UK at the
moment but the prices are bloody good if you're buying from the States.
Anybody bought any bargains from the States recently. I expect Marques and
side art prices will be good unless of course they are putting up the prices
to compensate.

Just a thought, but maybe the PCB he got from Ultimarc was a lot smaller(such as
an J-PAC). Also, DHL do a bulk discount, and if Ultimarc are sending more than
40 a month that's a whole 10 off each on. Also (also), they have a 'dimensional
weight' formula which could make it much cheaper listed under their quote

length*width*height (in cm)
-------------------
6000

= weight (kg)
