Well my long awaited Quest for one of these came to an end recently!
Cab needs quie a bit of work but its here, and if you have seen my rooms,it was hell to get it inside never mind trying to get my hands on one!
its currently a work in progress,so updates will follow over the course of a few weeks.
upon further inspection, and on its back i found this:-
its typical of a cab with no leg levellers and dreaded water, they dont mix well with chipboard!
there shud be 6 of these fekers, and 2 are totally gone!
the seat end of the cab is also moving and has detached itself from the base, its actually 3/4" wider at the base of the seat due to coming away,:-
also has damage to all the lower sections due to no leg levelers, shame aslo about the corners
so made some internal braces and sticks like sh*t,wiped the dust of the old cabinet clamps from my grandad and got to work
left that over night!
also fitted internal braces, sorry i didnt take pics as there right behind the floor llight assemblys
made a base to the exact width just to keep the cab square, and so i didnt squeeze it too far.
spliced a section of the floor back,to something reasonable, didnt wanna go too far or replace the whole section,im not that anal!#
i also fit what was left of the lower panel below the rear glasses,as it was angled and combined into two peices, ill aslo splice this later (forgot pic)
screwed the base peice into place then decided to splice the lower panel
wasnt happy as this was still too weak to fix too,so cut again higher
then time for some filler/sand filler/sand
decided to fit som alistrips on the bottom rather than fanny about with the lower 1" of artwork
then its time to get this huuuuge feker in place!!
so this has to go on its side, then on its back
cut an old broom handle up for easy moving
#
back on its side again ready for the big lift
not much room left from the ceiling/lights
