Hi All,

Got to check out many of the wonderful cabinets (and pinball machines) at Revival last weekend and had an amazing time!

After seeing all of this it's got me thinking about potentially purchasing my first cabinet for repair / refurbishment, or even attempting to build one. I have fairly good technical knowledge and refurbish /repair electronics for a living...hopefully someone on here might be able to give me a few pointers on where to start, advice, or just how much i'm letting myself in for!

Welcome to UKVAC!
Once you start, you just cant stop!

or is that pringles? Hmm

any way welcome aboard! what kinda games do you like then?

phil

One of my all time favourites that I remember playing in the arcade as a child is Metal Slug...other than that I'll play most games but unfortunately don't have a solid favourite currently as pc and console gaming detoured me away from the arcade gaming side of things.

Definatley getting hooked again though after revival. Especially loved the pinball, just a shame I couldn't try out the BTF machine...it was always packed!

Cool! There's a pocket of VACers close to you then. I'm just up the road in Basingstoke and there are a couple more dotted along the M3

Glad to see some locals on here! Noticed a couple of other posts from people in Fleet and Farnham earlier which gave me the extra push to sign up

Welcome to the site :)

I'm in Church Crookham.

Like Phil says, one cab won't be enough once you get started collecting even if don't think you have enough space!

And yes Revival was good wasn't it...

Cheers, Mart.

Yep welcome to the site. You'll have plenty of practice putting your technical skills to use WHEN your cabs break down...but it won't stop you collecting more and more

Welcome, forums and eBay. Once you know what you are looking for post a wanted as. Sounds as if you may just want a JAMMA cab? You can also play arcade PCBs on your TV with a supergun. IDChappy on here sells them.

Enjoy the site!

I'm just a little ways down the road in Southampton as well. Best place to look for cabs are on the sales section on this forum I would say. You can find some decent cabs on ebay as well. My advice is to keep your eyes open and don't buy the first thing that is 'sort of' what you want.

Welcome dude! Great to hear you're a convert from the show :) Metal Slug and NeoGeo MVS is a great place to start. One motherboard/cab and hundreds of cheap games to enjoy.

Cheers
Tim
