I had just offered a soldering tip on another post when the wife said “ someone has been using my digital scales and it won’t turn off or zero when I put batteries back in? “

always telling others how to do things get it sorted or buy me a new one!!!! Almost angry?
So off with the base I had actually weighed an eBay pre parcel weight mid week and it did stay on for me so I took batteries out
Under the play button a basic spring dome tin switch had released from its solder each side … it works by linking a horseshoe track to a central contact pad…
Using the tip I offered up in the tech repairs post I took my crocodile clip and used it to hold the very small dome tin plate in place… awkward little task and need be cautious as extreme heat too hot to attempt by hand almost straightened the dome a bit while hot so it’s quickly off and clip at very edge of object?
However job done wife happy and scales work again BUT happy my useful tip of the crocodile clip to hold a hot or difficult to hold wire etc… came in handy for me immediately after I photographed the clip device for the other post !!
