A great start to the Christmas holidays for me.
It's my first week with the Recalbox RGB Jamma system, so it's been try this try that.
This has cost me big time, while I was trying this and that img.
I think I switched to Win32 disk imager for some reason, I had a sd card ready and checked destination drive.
Then I got a call to do something else for a short while, so I got that done.
I got back to the computer and clicked write img or what ever it says.
One thing I need now are reading glasses, can't see shit without em.
The thing is I left them upstairs, so like I said I clicked write...
Not long after I noticed it had just formatted my 8TB drive.. 🤢 🤮
So now I'm enjoying myself recovering all that data..
Fun times.....check..check and check again, and don't forget ya glasses 😉 😎
Anyways hope you all have a great Christmas 🎄 and New year 🥳 🎉 drinks 🍸 🍺 🍻

Happy Christmas to you also

Tell me about glasses, I can't see anything without my cheap reading ones, i bought 5 pairs because I know I won't be able to find them and I stood on one pair that fell on the floor, the other week I could only find 1 pair lol but think i'm back to the 3 now though i did see all 4 for a couple of days

Remember when I was ghosting a drive and got them wrong way around and copied what I didn't want on to the disk i was supposed to be copying from, didn't loose anything but it's annoying

Think I am getting there with the eyesight too, need to hold my phone are arms length these days to ready anything! Just remember to recover the data on to a different drive and not the one you are recovering from. Easy thing to mess up.

I got +2 as that was fine beginning of the year but now I still can't read some of the tiny writing on the Bluray covers so I need to get some +3 I think. I try not to wear them too much as even my brother said I think the more you wear glasses they make your eyes worse and I think that is probably the case, not wearing sunglasses in the sun I've been hearing too which I've never really done much anyway but need to listen to more on it

That's how it starts lol, it was watching movies first for me, my left eye just made the writing a bit fuzzy on DVD through projector, when I watched Bluray it was much clearer and less noticeable and still I can watch movies okay, then it was I can't see anything clear without it being a foot away which has then got near to arm length away :geek:

Not quite the same but was trying to write an image to a floppy disk using a usb floppy drive. Tried win32 disk imager and it failed.
Only after rebooting my laptop I found instead of writing to the designated drive letter it had written to the C drive-no more windows.

It sucks I know, a split second error and hours lost fixing.

Reading glasses. Hmmm I got x5 cheap pairs off The River and ended up having vertigo attacks after using them for too long. Scary shit.

Many, many, many years ago at Uni I forgot to switch to the drive where my disk was as wanted to delete everything on said disk. Typed in Delete *.* as you do and deleted everything on the PC hard drive. Looked around and nobody was about so I proceeded to exit the situation. I had been drinking that day so that was my excuse.

I remember doing that in college, In the windows 2k days, One of the lecturers was challenging us to break windows in a way that was not easy to fix as it would not let you delete the system files from explorer. command prompt does not give a shit though

Yeah we would have not been popular with the tech guys looking after everything having to do full installs and system recoveries.
I think some students on various courses stored work on the hard drive I deleted because they were just too lazy to save their work to disk. Things like CVs and dissertations etc. Oh well. I didn't stick around to find out, just headed back to the SU for Happy Hour

I did that once, professionally, in front of a lovely couple who ran a little mom 'n' pop business. I got this very sick feeling when I realised what I'd done. Sent them a "Deepest Sympathy" card the following day.
