Hi everyone, for my first post I'm going to make a lot of you cry!

Long, long ago in a land far far away (actually the north of Scotland) I came across a discarded, rough, monitorless cocktail cabinet. Being interested in all things old pub orientated I initially had plans to take it home but then I realised that I have very little skills to actually do anything to have fixed it up.....so I left it.

That night I did a little research and figured out that even if I didn't have the skills to do it up maybe someone else would so the next day I went back only to find that by now it had been chucked in a skip and flattened a wee bit!

I hauled the mangled mess out of the skip and managed to rescue some of the unbroken bits which I have photographed below.

Only very recently have I discovered how rare this cab is/was and believe me, I have been kicking myself every day since then that I didn't take it home when I had the chance!

What was this cocktail I hear you ask. Well, I've done a bit of research and I believe that it was a genuine Namco Puckman! And what bits did I manage to save? As you can see by the pics below I've got 2 control panels, 1 with joystick and, more importantly the PCB.

I have no idea what I want to do with what I have though, I would love to make a cab for it but as previously stated, I have no skills to carry that off. I could get it hooked up to a Supergun with adaptor and just play it on a TV but I don't even know if the board is in a workable condition.

Hi and Welcome

Yes Namco Puckman table is quite rare or at least on these isles, I've seen even less uprights and could kick myself for not buying the one on ebay once in favour of getting Midway Pac-Man

seen a couple of the Tables in all the years on ebay so that one makes 3

It's similar story to the first Table machine I got, it was from local tip, was all smashed up when I found it and when my mate came round and saw it, he said the day before he passed a flatbed truck with a table arcade on the back heading towards the tip so it seems the guys at the tip wanted to see if any money in it so smashed it up to get anything out, wasn't a rare one just a Gameworld type that were made in Nottingham but it had Circus Charlie pcb in and that still worked amazingly which I still have, I did start rebuilding the table machine but then decided these type cabs aren't for me, specially leaning over with bad back and joysticks at funny angles so I gave it away with a pole position 2 machine I sold to someone on the forums, apart from the wood sides which i'd cut out it just needed new glass as it was all there

these were pictures of Namco Puckman on ebay in 2010

Welcome ……

back around 1992 many cocktails were just thrown out as end of life…..

I had about 25 or more back then and still have 3 which haven’t had action in this century I think? One got a glass broken when last on a commercial site….coincidentally it too had been a Circus Charlie Konami. — Just sit there two stacked in the workshop , one on its side in a shed . It’s what happens sadly, but I may revive them soon if time allows? Or more likely I get any space!!!

They had often done 10 + years in pubs , and sports centres and work canteens as the table aspect was a neat development , but in pubs they became the table for sitting at and took less money as games got stale?

If they did survive to there without a game or monitor fault which few people were patient enough to repair then came the final death notice! ……. The small 10p launch!!!!

S1 roll in coin slots were not easy to adapt as the slot was big enough for the old 10p and by 1994 the 2p went to magnetic steel alloy so coin mechs blocked all the time unless restricted by a pop rivit or similar height limiter?

Over a couple of years there became no commercial demand for the cocktails except at home or back room cafe arcades.

Chances are the pcb may have issues at the age it now is , but ?????? Who knows?

Empty carcasses still pop up on eBay and if you saved the controls it may live again?

Good luck trying , advice and help with bits can often be acquired here on ukvac 👍

I rescued an NSM Heritage Jukebox from the same fate! Guy had a crowbar in his hand to force it open to see what coins were in it! I made a deal that he would get any money if I got the jukebox.

The key cost me a tenner and all that was in there was an old £1 coin 😃

I've since spent over £300 getting it working and it's now sitting in my garage/bar area and sounds pretty good 😎

 what did he do with his £1 lol

People don't see value in the item just what may be inside it, glad it got saved (y)

Well, 2 years on and the board is still sat on the shelf in the garage!

Looking at it realistically I'm never going to do anything with it so it's time to move it on to someone who has the knowledge and skills to do something with it!

Would anyone here be interested in it?Does anyone have any idea of current value of it? Obviously untested.

If no-one here, where would a good place to sell it?
