Having my games room decorated and rewired with smart plugs and overhead heating / AC over the next two week ends which means all the cabs need to be moved outside to let them work.

I got lucky this weekend for the decorating, unlikely I will be as lucky next weekend, also moving the cabs in and out has ruined my back not looking forward to doing it all again, might have to hire a 7.5 tonne tail lift van just to store them in as if it rains I have no chance of stopping them from getting wet.

The number of people who thought I was having a garage sale was mental though :)

Hire a lorry now! If it rains they’ll all be f****d! Also what’s to stop someone pinching them? I left a few crap chairs out overnight by accident in a shared back yard when I was decorating a house, they were gone by morning. Honestly someone will pinch one or more for sure. Plus there’s been heavy frost here for two days, what were you thinking?!!

He who dares Rodney!!

I didn't leave them outside overnight!!

I could see them all where we were working and the painters van was blocking the driveway, they were outside between 10.30 and 16.00 yesterday, Weather forecast was perfect otherwise I would have had to call it off.

Not feeling so lucky for next week end though.

That would really piss me off them sitting there
All the people that just think because you’ve a few cabs sitting there they can just walk on your property and start bull Sh1ting and making silly offers ,and presuming they aren’t worth anything
I feel your pain there
I’m sure you will get them moved or covered quickly enough at the first sign of a cloud
Nice collection btw

I don't mind chatting rhubarb to people who walk past about the machines normally, most are just amazed such things still exist and want to tell me their childhood !

I never talk money with anyone on the walk past I just say they aren't for sale ( which is true) , thanks for the compliment Glenn took me a fair while to get the machines I wanted and bar another couple I am done, there are another three or four off camera poked the other side of the van.

Ok well I’m a bit less worried now if they’re not being left out. Sorry you did say in your post you were moving them in and out, I was just in such a panic I didn’t read it properly! I’d still hire a lorry if they were mine, moving them in and out daily can’t be great for them, and it probably will rain at some point, but then it’ll be cold in the lorry and people will know what’s in there now. If you do get a lorry back it right up against your house at night so the tail lift can’t be opened, thieves can be very determined when they’ve made their mind up to steal something. Tarps aren’t great at keeping the water out, and won’t stop the bases soaking water off the ground. If you do have to tarp them I recommend getting damp proof membrane instead from Travis Perkins, they do a small “handy pack” of dpm for about £15, 4m x 5m.
And I can see your mobile number on the side of your car, might want to cut that off the photo, unless that’s the decorators.
I look forward to seeing your game room pics when it’s finished!

Its all good thanks Dave,Truck is the decorator's, He got the painting done in a day and the sparky recons a day for the wiring install so if I get a van they will only be in there for the day whilst he is working.

Will post some pictures when we are up and running.

I hope you have a trolley!

I put castors on all my machines as soon as they arrive, makes moving around a dream on the tiled floor not so good when I had to put them on the gravel drive!.

Bloke who did the decorating said initially he would work around them covered over, but then decided he could get it all done in a day instead of two if we moved them all out and as there wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday I was ok with it, I had half a dozen car covers to hand if Ming the Merciless was sat at his PC and things changed.

Will have to come up with a plan for the electrics going in so will more than likely rent a truck for a day and just leave it on my drive as they do their thing.

What a fantastic collection!

Hope it all goes to plan. Could you get a couple of large gazebos up just incase?

Thanks Matt.

It was a one off , very unlikely I will do it again, they will get roll on roll off tail lifted straight from the room next time, better for my back.

I do want a Gazebo though as I need one for working outside so looking for one with sides so I don't get bits in my paint work.
