Ok this will be a slow burner due to lack of time and that this is my first restoration of this kind.
Â
The Hot Rod came from the recent Wales Barn Raid and like every other cab from the barn was covered in dirt, but looks to be a nice solid cab with little damage. (apart from the rust)
Â
Â
Â
Â
The lovely steering wheels with all that human sweaty mould - nice!!!!
Â
Â
So after a quick look over the outside everything seemed to be sound and solid, which to be honest is a miracle for all the cabs that came from the Barn, even the moths had had enough.
Â
Â
So I now wanted to have a look inside to see if everything was intact, which was the first cleaning job as the keys would not go in the locks due to the rust on them.
Â
Â
So I cleaned up the keys and unlocked the rear door, ok now for the stupid video and the sound of my own voice (which I hate, OMG, LOL)
Â
Â
(Sorry if the link don't work first time I've posted a vid)
Â
Great to see it was all intact and all original manuals and paperwork, not so sure about the freebies though.
Â
I have been looking on the web for info on these and the 2 Player version seems to be the rarest of them all (very little info pics etc) so to get this machine and in the condition it is I am over the moon.
Â
Anyone got any links etc to info let me know although prob found most of them already, but don't let that stop you posting them.
Â
So next up was to give it a quick clean and assess the real condition, the marquee is in great condition with no scuffs or scratches.
Â
Â
Opened up the control panel and removed those lovely clean steering wheels.
Â
Â
Wheels removed, you can now see the missing cpo decals, that's going to be tough to replace these, will see what pics I can get and see if anyone out there can reproduce the whole thing, any suggestions welcome.
Â
Â
The Wheels.
Â
Â
Â
NICE!!!!!
Â
So lets gave one a quick clean and see what the damage is.
Â
Â
Fantastic!!! no damage and came up really clean.
Â
More to come!!
