I don't really go to any arcades anymore (mainly due to there being none around me).

I'm curious, how often do you guys who still visit arcades see Ridge Racer / Ridge Racer 2 cabs in the wild these days?

I was thinking about going on a bit of an adventure to see if i could find any as playing mine at home is one thing but i'd love to play one in an actual arcade.

I'm actually wondering if they would even be around anymore?

I'd imagine most are by now... Such a shame really.

Anyone got a time machine? :D

In the wild as in fixed location coin play arcade - not that often. Blackpool Pleasure Beach had a full scale ridge racer - sure reports are that its still working.

Arcade Club in Bury is a fixed location pay to come in free play venue which is open every weekend and has loads of different games (can't remember if Amdy has Ridge Racer)

And I take games on the road through the the year to many different events and shows on a free play basis. Manchesters Play Expo will have 120 ish there. I don't have RR though.

While there's plenty arcade action going on around the UK there's not much video game love in commercial operated arcades.

I found one in a chippy a few years back, and ended up buying it from the guy that sited it there for £100, I also got a bunch of boards to test and help sell for him, after contacting him a few ways over a few months and getting no replies I had no other option than to end up with the money myself, so the cab cost me nothing and I made a few quid

Just to make that story more interesting, one of the boards turned out to be a working R-type Leo

None in my local area too, they used to be everywhere. And you sure love Ridge Racer

Arcade Club has Rave Racer, which I don't prefer.

I took my kids to a softplay area in Cirencester not so long ago and there was a ridge racer and a pointblank hidden away at the very back. It was in a bit of a sorry state though, yellow screen, worn controls. I'm pretty confident its the same machine I used to play in my youth at a local gambling place (which is now a themed 50's diner with some cabs in the back :) )....
