Needed a replacement for my marquue lamp & starter in the Sinistar, so thought I would try out one of the LED strips to see how it performed. Went for warm white, 60 lamps per metre. Not sure of what lux level these give out, but it was a case of suck it and see. Tested this out with a strip ~500mm inside the marquee compartment, and it seemed to be ok.
At 2.5m per strip this means that the strip has enough length for another 4 cabs. And the real beauty of this - the strip uses 12v DC, so it was just a case of running 2 wires up from the PSU to the marquee compartment. Note that the strip comes with red and black wire connected at either end, but it looks as if to connect a "virgin" piece of strip, you only need to solder the wires on with a piece of heat shrink to insulate them.
