That guy is great at describing the whole process of the making of the game .
All that to sell 4000 games and be at number 1 for 6 weeks .crazy
I was equally suprised there were only 20 k pole positions made

What about Marble Man (Marble Madness II)? I think it's been dumped and in MAME, but don't think I've ever tried it, as I don't have a trackball setup.

It actually used 3 joysticks for 3 players
I’d love to try it ,the guy mentions it at the end of the video .its didn’t fair too well and never went into full production
Need someone clever to make it playable on the original system 1 cab 😀

No chance, I looked, uses much later hardware specifically with more colour resolution. System 1 hardware just wont be able to do it.

doesnt work with a trackball ,only joystick. i have it but meh, needs a trackball.
You mean you have one of the prototype cabs? Would love to get hi-res images of both sides of the pcbs.
If I had these images I may be able to correctly identify which donor board could be used to come up with a Marble Man conversion.

Didn't somebody release a patch to make it trackball compatible?
A guy in the USA had some converted cabs up for sale a while back. They took a similar Atari board from the same era and hacked it to run Marble Man. It was rumoured to be a Batman board but never confirmed. They were being very tight with any info at the time. They apparently took 6 months to come up with trackball patches for it! Think they had around 5 cabinets they were going to sell.
It only took me a few days to come up joystick patches for Marble Madness for System 1 Multi. On digging into the assembler I found that it had been designed with straight forward X, Y & velocity and had a function specifically to take in the 135 degree trackball data and convert it.

I know what you mean i go through spells of playing it and times I just can’t face it lol
Do you have all the original kits for your cab ?
I’ve only got roadblasters and mm
Would like roadrunner and the others ,I think the multi is my way of doing that at some stage
Yepp I have all Kits (just Relief Pitcher missing).
And a two player Gauntlet "Kit" and a Rollling Thunder "Kit". These Kits are original CPs and PCBs with an adapter to System1.

And a custom Rampart and a custom Xybots....

Gauntlet and Rolling Thunder with adaptors to System 1? so you can play the pcb and control panel in System 1 cabs?

It's cool game but not one I played in the arcade, don't recall seeing it. I have got a MM kit after selling original cab like a fool, have all 5 kits too and 1 original kit box for temple of doom I think or Road Runner
Totally regret no bidding on the best lot ever on ebay of System 1 machine and 5 kits, most in original boxes, all flyers, manuals, Tshirt etc was £1700 back in 2005/6 shame I didn't save pics

I did it the easy way, with an additional wood frame for the external PCBs

Brilliant idea, the more games you can play with original pcb and control panel without more space taken is a winner, plus when you've had enough of one game for a while you can drop in another, perfect solution to the issue of limited space :)

£1700 would of been a good wedge of money 20 years ago,but that would of been the dream buy
