i am trying to reproduce a set of taito lunar rescue cards for my tabletop, when i bought it it had a set of (badly) black and white photocopied instruction cards under the glass, i removed them and done a search online for a picture of the originals

the only picture i can find of any card online is a set that p-man has in his webstore but they look nothing like the ones i have

this is what i had to work with

lunar_rescue_card_before.jpg

and after using the background colour from the only card i could find on the net (thanks andy

) this is what i come up with

lunar_rescue_card_after.jpg

can anyone confirm if this is the correct colour for these cards?

i also have the high score card but that looks the same as the ones fitted to a si2 table

They look good. Have you managed to find any history on the instruction cards that p-man has for sale on his site? Like where they for a overseas model or something similar?

Personally I like those ones better that the ones you had to start with :)

Its possible the cards i have in my store are from an upgrade kit. .

I pulled them from a table i reverted back to regular Space Invaders, but its possible someone bought a rom kit with instructions cards from Taito.

The cards i have, also have rounded edges, and are self-adhesive, so they were intended for more than just under-glass use, they did however keep the right dimensions for the standard taito cocktail table window.

I have another card for Ozma Wars that are the same style, rounded corners and self-adhesive...

It seems that post space invaders, Taito may have changed the style to suit the varied amounts/types of tables. For instance, this self-adhesive type could be used on Universal and DECO tables (that had clear glass tops - that you had to secure cards to the table surface)
