Man, there's a difference between malicious intent and good humoured exaggeration.

I don't think anyone's wondering whether I drive a Robin Reliant, for instance.

I was looking an old promo video for the cancelled atari battlestar galactica, pity it never came out. So no, I haven't come across a galactica, and I doubt anyone would believe it. But then people don't believe me about actual stuff either so...

It's just good fun :)

By this point I'm sure that some would rather only here the truth and not exaggerations as you seem to keep posting bold claims and then falling back on them. Then doubts are raised.

If you get done good stuff, that's great and haven't an issue but just less exaggerations is all

^^ this from @NaokiS

I genuinely hoped everything MM has posted
over the months was correct and not misleading, good humoured or not.

Of course this isn't the case, evidently.

And so I'm out. All the very best in future threads/raids/stories.

Fair enough. If I've ever posted a valuation thread about whatever, it means there's real potential. A throwaway comment with a smiley face should be easily distinguished.

These things take a lot longer than might be imagined. For instance I posted a valuation thread on star wars probably months back (I think), same with a dimensions question on house of the dead... So if something I was inquiring about disappears off the map for a very long time, it's not that I was day-dreaming and wasting my own time (who'd do that?!), that's just the way it goes :/

But point taken all the same, less joking around!

In his defence, me and Mysticmonk was talking about one of his raid locations that he was due to go and visit a while ago as I was helping out with some cab identification and stuff. What he was describing sounded amazing and I thought it may be a bit of an exaggeration by the op, but when he sent me the pics there was actually a hell of a lot more there than he had described. As for the humour in some of the posts I say keep it coming, maybe some people can't tell when you're joking and when you're not even though it's pretty obvious?

Just thought I'd say that as we don't want to discourage people from posting about raids and stuff, I mean people are even criticising his photography skills

These things can be a hell of a lot more complicated and take a lot longer than you may think.
I finally got something recently from an Op that took 3 years for him to get to me.

After having a couple of small dealings with operators, I can only imagine the amount of calls, messages back and forth that end up going nowhere, it must be very frustrating. Well done for persevering and getting a result

Three years? You're making me look good here :p yep, it's an effort!

Anyway I'll keep things related to this raid going forward.

Some of the pictures show only parts, such as the Manx tt. But there was a whole twin there, split up all over the place. It was someone else who noticed the pinball, I had completely missed it! Op was a very nice guy too. I'll wait until I get word back on the different machines taken and can give a better idea of shape they're in, but overall quite good.

The star wars and a couple other cabinets had the exact same streak of damage across the artwork (you can see in pictures) ...same door they were squeezed through when working on the floor. Pity, as otherwise quite well preserved.

Yeah it's cool to have a video to go alongside. It's unfortunate that its become so hyper-competitive otherwise I'm sure we'd see a lot more stuff posted, but it is what it is!

Nothing better than exploring dusty old warehouses full of cool stuff :)

Only saw this thread the other day

I didn't think the fun side you were having was a problem, need some light hearted humour, only thing disappointing is no pics of the TX-1s yet

Totally understand not wanting to show things till deals are done and machines secured, I don't even say about ones won on ebay till I picked it up, but we need to see some TX-1 pics

Ah there'll be plenty of pics, just not yet, that's all.

Hopefully a few more videos too from other things, but as you say there needs to be a gap between these things :)

Excellent, no rush as it's nice to have things to look forward too anyway

Ha . just seeing you posted my video :D
I've a follow up vid there on what I got out of there for myself and another one coming Saturday too ;)

Rest of the cabs were picked by other members of the raid.

Thanks again mysticmonk for doing the groundwork and passing me the lead on it

No problem, man, your videos are well worth a look, people should have a gander :)

Especially your whitewater restoration, that was such a resurrection it's practically voodoo :p
