Well that's not great news about outrun, thanks for the info. Will get more than 3 people for sure. I'm pretty sure the Castors are intact as I could nudge it around easily enough. Will leave the best experience till last!

You would never lift the outrun by hand. I used a forklift to load mine into a van.
This might sound harsh but I would be there now collecting cabs not posting on the forum.

The forklift thing isn't the most inspiring, I have to say. Cos then it would mean another forklift involved for getting out of storage...as another poster said, what about physically lifting onto pallet then using a pallet pump? I'll look into this further, but I'm glad I asked instead of showing up with wrong idea in mind.

I'd be there now collecting more cabinets if I could, but schedule isn't matching up. Will be there again tomorrow.

I moved my Outrun in and out of a tail lift van me and an op pf advancing years. As long as the wheels work its fine. Its 300kg so two people can lift it at corners to get over small bumps.

Go get it!

Me and Martin the Deliveryman got my OutRun DLX on to his luton with just the two of us. I wouldn't dare attempt it without a tail lift - it just fitted on. Although if push came to shove I'd take it to pieces to ease lifting, but even without the whole top section the base is heavy as f*ck.

Yes agreed tail lift to get it on the van is essential!

Take the whole lot and as soon as you can, I am amazed the Op is hanging about, with a raid it’s very much that, rush in, grab and run. Test later or just sell on as fast as you can to recoup the outlay/storage. Longer things rumble on, the higher the risk of things going pear shaped. Hope it all works out dude.

How not to arrange raid.
This is painful to read.

Please get some local collectors involved so this doesnt get any worse.
You need to arrange a date to mover everything in one go.
Alpha1 is the guy you need to get some honest advice from.

Oh tell me about it! I definitely jumped the gun too early. I wasnt aware of the gazumping thing at all, didn't think anyone would be that interested to be honest. Innocence!

But, in my defence, trying to arrange pick ups with the operator is like trying to herd cats, cancelling things at the last second etc. That said, the next pick-up is going to be all in one (for my sanity), I'll take the advice of not bothering with things being tested.

I'll quit the pain, and leave it here for now. It will be funny story when its all done :)

If properly organised I would be up for being involved in saving this lot from the skip it sounds like it's rapidly heading towards.
However a jaunt over to no mans land with nothing but a few pints of Guiness in hand and a view of rainclouds is not on the cards.

Whilst we are sharing back breaking tales from long long ago we managed to lift a space harrier deluxe which I suspect weighs the same or more with 3 maybe 4 people but it was a tad heavy. From memory we actually tilted it up substantially towards vertical, reversed the trailer under it and then lowered it somewhat swiftly. I also made my mum and dad help unload it when we got home

and it's never left the flat floor of the garage since.

However get a big van, get a tail lift and get going....

The people telling you that you would be gazzumped were more than likely trying to endear themselves to you so you would sell them one machine or they have green eyed monster syndrome because they are missing out. Some will be genuine but ignore it all and take the lead.

It's still salvageable but you need to pick a few members who will drop what they are doing, hire a Luton with a tail lift and split the cabs up. You pick what you want and let them buy the stuff you don't want or can't afford to store. You can all then help each other empty the storage unit.

If you’ve paid for it all ,I don’t see why the op can’t leave the place open for you to come and go with a van and a team of people as you please
These ops just want rid of it all as quickly as possible ,u do any testing or looking on your own time in your own storage
No matter what time day or night he says you need to be there ,u need to be there
First mistake was lifting a couple of cabs ,whatever they may be and going away without the rest
Like the guy from irvinsetowm that had all the stuff ,once he got wind it was worth something ,he had people bidding against each other to the point that anything decent was picked or ebayed and he was left with a big pile of crap that he thought was worth a fortune
