I would like to Applaud MysticMonk for his kindness to try to offer his found treasure to everyone and asking nothing in return, well done, I salute you..... like someone said, he is new to ukvac and doesnt know anybody on here except through messages, pm's and emails, lots of super good advice for him early on by everyone, unfortunately he hasn't seen what happened to him and his attempt to get the machines into collectors hands for peanuts, reading this RaidStory was like watching someone being 'groomed', it started on page3 with the first offer of help,"happy to help if you need muscle or another pair of hands", followed on page8 with,"I'll hire a big Van in the next few days and hightail it over to Ireland, I fancy a good pint of guinness anyway!!".....all of which were offered by same person when no machines were on the table for anyone, pretty friendly, super friendly as most arcade collectors are and most if not all collectors would love to help but might find it hard to help when there not on the same Island..... page9 is when the machines were kindly offered to everyone and SuperFriendlyHelpfullGuy instantly formed a whatsapp group, MysticMonk wanted no pm's to keep everything on the forum and transparent but let his SuperFriendlyHelpfullGuy continue with the whatsapp groups and the rest is History so forget about all the chaos after page 9, the dream of sharing his treasure with collectors vanished on page9..... once again, lets hear it for MysticMonk and his genuine open offer to everyone!! AllTheBest to You and if your new SuperFriendlyHelpfullGuy doesnt manage to help you out with the monitor you need there's one here if you want it give me ashout.....

Its all cool at this point. Its far too easy to draw incorrect conclusion from this scorched-earth thread for those not in the know, so best to just leave it here.

I have talked with each person involved now, after the fact. I have no ill-feelings towards anyone, its just the expected chaos you'll get from the likes of "outrun dlx's for 60 quid".

Its just one of them things that happens, bit of miscommunication here and there, things rapidly grow out of control.

No bad guys, no good guys, just regular guys

So stick a fork in this thread, wrap a ribbon round it...its all done

In the end the machines were sniped ,the operator will make a fortune
The cabs have all left this island ,and possibly away to Europe or wherever

I'm still in contact with the operator, nothings finished yet. But once its 100% done I'll cap this thread off and put up the original pictures.

As for the outrun never being for sale...I think that story came along later when people expressed specific interest! I also know where the guys got the cabinets originally. Velly intelesting! Nice guys all round!

Info being made public before the deal was done was the catalyst, opportunists seeing a opportunity is a normal reaction tbh, then when the op got a sniff of extra cash that was the end of the golden opportunity. It's a shame that golden opportunity was wasted but hopefully it will serve as a lesson for future raiders.

When I first joined this forum I never fully understood why people called it a 'raid'. Only after actually visiting ops with experienced 'raiders' did it fully sink in why it's called a raid. Quickly check over items and agree a price, hand over cash, keep a poker face and keep chatting to a minimum, quickly load items onto van/vans and get the heck out of there! Plenty of time to chat and stuff afterwards.

update: machines are loaded and in SuperFriendlyHelpfullHands aphoto of the Hoard being loaded will be put up later, this RaidStory should be noted not for the person who ended up with the entire hoard, nor should it be noted for the valiant and brave attempts that were made to try and distribute the machines to as many needy arcaders as possible on both Islands but should be noted for one Mans vision to kindly share what he had found and who had asked nothing in return.....
