Another quick update -

Fitted the Joystick

Although I did use 2 sets of nuts to secure the Joystick as they tend to vibrate loose I also used a drop of retainer to make sure they sit tight

The buttons. If any of you guys have tried to clean original buttons nothing seems to get them back to 'as new'. I thought I'd tried everything from Cif to Novus, etc but nothing ever seemed to take that dull, discoloured film off. I tried some Fibre Glass cutting compound earlier. I set a drill up in a vice and had it set on full chat.

Which gave me a free pair of hands

Good job!

Washed them off with some fairy liquid

What a knob!!!

Got to DK Sunday, not for long but did fit a mod.

I brought a few of these over a year ago and forgot about them. I was having a sort out Saturday and there they were.

Nothing that fantastic especially for those of you with Hanty's etc

Very simple, this gets replaced.....

With this

And fitted the control board on top of the coin box housing behind the coin door

Very simple to fit but it was fiddly and some swearing did occur. Ideally it would have been easier to remove the chassis but that just wasn't going to happen.

Got to the cab this morning -

Fitted the bezel, control panel, rear blackout, bezel blackout, applied the instruction decals and went over the cab making sure everything was tight, hoovered it out and it's now finished.

I hope most of you enjoyed it, I know some of you don't approve of what I do but that's bad luck.

As the title suggests, this is my final DK resto, but not the end of my restoration days although this will be the last one that will reach UKVAC. I have a Galaxian lined up to do next year and always fancied a Defender re-stencil so looking forward to at least those two.

It looks like a few of you are getting stuck in to some decent restorations and scratch builds which I will be following with interest and I wish you the best of luck with those.

Best, Al
