Quick question for you - I notice you have a 161-1 cart alongside 3 other carts in your 4-slot. I also have a 4-slot and a 161-1 cart but can't seem to make it work if other carts are also plugged in (in other words it needs to be the lone cart in one of the 4-slots for it to work). Any workarounds you found?

Also - on the 161-1 cart while I'm asking - I can't seem to get into the test mode to change difficulty levels for games on the multi-cart. Is there a shortcut or secret combo you may know...?

Thanks in advance!

I've heard 161 in 1 carts not working with other carts but mine has always work along side others.( always in slot 1)
Don't know why, maybe voltage? Mines about 5.09v across pins 1-3 2-4 when game running.
I've had some problems with carts not happy next to others. ( just moved them )

As far as level settings in multi cart, you can change in soft settings via test switch ( after game selected )
I don't change levels

Hey Dazzzzz - that makes a lot of sense - and probably explains why I can't seem to run it along any other carts. It basically seems to "take over" my board when it's plugged in. So I guess it will be a 161-1 cart or 4 normal carts.

hey up neogeo13 - yeah thats just my experience with them, i suppose it could change depending on if you are using an arcade power supply or a supergun etc.

when i was messing around with some 1 slots i used a very small PC power supply that didnt give out much extra, it ran all original MVS games perfect (that i had to test anyway) but pop the 161 in and all you get is a black screen, swap the power supply to something a bit more substantial and it worked first time

Cool good points - I'll keep all that in mind.

In truth - I'm starting to sour on the 161-1 concept - I think the collector in me is getting excited to do it the old fashioned way and start building out a 'proper' MVS collection anyway ;-)

I find with the multi carts I play a quick game then reset to another until bored.
When I get a new game I play it about 20-30 mins non stop and it stays in my cab until next one turns up.
Neo bomber man, last resort, ghost pilot at the mo.

I try just to use my multi as a demo play to see what games I'm after next.

i tend to have the 161 in my cab at all times, mainly because when im hammered at 3:30 in the morning and someone says swap Puzzle Bobble for Metal Slug, i dont fancy opening up my cab and swapping out stuff when im that drunk (or anyone else for that matter!)

however i am building up a little collection of games on the side!
