I was talking to a colleague at work and they were trying to describe a game to me. Unfortunately I'm not sure which game they were referring too. So I asked them to describe it over email and thought I would post here to see if you guys know what it is?

This is the email I received:

So, it was mid 1985. The screen size was roughly double that of an asteroids machine. At the top of the screen was a large flying saucer like you get in Phoenix but with what looked like more 16-bit graphics. Little flying saucers would come down to the bottom of the screen with what could have been some sprite scaling, but it might have been my height relative to the screen size. There was lots of flashing when something exploded and possibly fm or even sampled sound. The palette was primarily yellows and red with a blue back drop. Someone switched the machine off at some point and I remember the reboot took some time and it seemed to be doing a test or a countdown with big thick letters and numbers like you got on an old pong or VCR. The machine looked fairly new. Be wonderful to play it again! (It wasn't Buck Rogers).
