OutRunners System 32 PCB repair? ( added a video )

Hi-a,

I’m looking for somebody who can repair a couple of OutRunners PCBs (Sega System 32 Multi). eg 4 player's worth of outrunning

• PCB 1: Game works; most audio works, but some music tracks are missing. It is no longer playing just the “Adventure” or “Speed King” music tracks. Running through the sound tests, there are a few entries missing. The Mega Radio Station is also not playing all of its music, although all of the DJ speech appears to be present.
• PCB 2 main board: Game/graphics work, but no audio; IC54 reports as failed (RAM?)
• PCB 2 ROM/audio board: Audio is corrupted/playing the wrong samples when tested on PCB 1.

I’d be interested in having both boards diagnosed and repaired if possible.

The game is JAMMA compatible for testing, and the PCB has buttons for accessing the test menus. I also have a gaming-wheel adapter/harness available for testing the controls/radio inputs if required.

Isn't flaky audio an indicator the custom IC(s) is/are going bad?

Possibly. But on PCB1 it's only on two or three of the music tracks missing all the other music and audio is fine. Could it be a corrupt ROM on the top board? or would that show up during tests, Unless it's an addressing issue and those music tracks use some features the others don't.

On PCB 2, TBD - hopefully the IC45 ram can be replaced.

Hi,

Thank you that's good to know about the jumpers if I pick up a rom board from elsewhere.

The two boards I have are original rom boards with the motherboard that came from sit-down out-runners cabinets.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a member who does repairs on this era of SEGA hardware,
I used VectorGlow in the past but believe he retired?
