Just considering if I want to do 2 days or just 1.
Is anyone stopping over ?

Anything going on at night ?

Any hotel recommendations ?

There's a hotel (or 2? ) at the Trafford Centre, spaces maybe running out though.

Yeah, they have gone up to £106 now, which indicates rooms are running out. I have stayed at Trafford Centre South Premier Inn before and its nice....but if there is nothing going on at night, I'm reluctant to book.

Last year alot of us stayed at Trafford Centre West... nicely located and had a late opening bar..

The hotels around the trafford centre are fine if you have a car, its a bloody long hike at 11pm if you don't.

Premier Inn West is where everyone generally stays - "because it has a late bar", to be honest,

In 2012 I found it grubby in a few ways (room wise), the beer felt a bit watered down and I just couldn't do with the constant brand sell (would you like any deserts or Costa Coffee?) but that was me being staff and not a visitor so I was knackered.

Months ago, the hotels were around the £80 a night rate.

I've booked a Premier Inn about 4 miles out. It was £39 a night or something like that. One of us will drive and just have a few drinks and something to eat in the local bar. We'll mix with everyone over the weekend

Hotel prices were a little too steep for me this year - coming in at double what I have paid the last 2 years. As it stands I don't know if I will be here for it or not yet, so will hold off committing to anything just yet.

I think anywhere around the Trafford Centre is going to be expensive.

There are places a little further out that I'm sure will be a lot less.

The ones I can think off the top of my head are:

The Copthorne Hotel
Premier Inn at Old Trafford
The Ramada at Salford Quays

Infact there are a ton of hotels like Premier Inn and Travelodges around Salford Quays, and near Media City

Having never paid for the hotel for Play Expo as Replay Events have always paid for me the last 4 years it sure will feel strange if I decide to come this year as not involved in cab runs.

Therein lies one of my issues Pete. Supplied cabs and transport 3 years on the bounce, always paid my own accommodation and petrol. The cash I got last year covered only the van hire, nothing else. The 2 years previous I paid my own way also.

Eventually it comes to a point where you ask yourself why you should be out of pocket to provide cabs to a money making enterprise - but at the same time I probably would make the cab run again if I knew for sure I would be there.

Getting my candy apart through my doorway is my biggest gripe its about 2 hours on either side striping with and the re-build I had to do it on my own last year on the return journey and then it rained.

Also taking it part is taking its toll (1996 cab) as I'm sure it was not to be used like that so really I need a garage and don't have 1 so I'm out which is a shame for me as I like coming to this 1 & I've never been out of pocket.

I hardly use the cab so maybe 1 day I can store it somewhere and bring it out for the public.

That makes no sense from a Replay point of view. If people are spending their own money to get cabs to the event then there is no incentive to take them. Surely that can't be right?
