Would this be an Atari or namco please ?
The board edge connector doesn't look as bad as I expected
But when I turned it on there was smoke from below where the back door would be
Anyone know what this is

Its an Atari board, 1st thing you need to do is cut that leaking battery off and clean the board up. Next will be checking all voltages on the power brick sounds like this or a mains filter has failed. IMO you really need to get the above checked out and be methodical with checking all the voltages before turning cabs on especially on. PP boards are power hungry and require good PSU and edge connections (you can wire up the board jumper pins to the PSU)

Sad to see the battery has done it's usual damage to these pcb's.
It's going to be a good idea to rebuild the AR2 with at least new caps, it can make a big difference to the voltages as I found with mine.

The battery acid can eat through the tracks on the PCB, the tracks are not impossible to repair if the acid has eaten through but its going to take someone knowledgeable and willing to sort that. A good clean with some isopropyl alcohol should show you the state of the damage.

As for the ARII's this is something you could easily do yourself if you want to get involved in soldering and learning about keeping these games alive. an ARII refurb usually consists of replacing the electrolytic capacitors, voltage regulators and sometimes the Audio Amp IC's. You'd certainly be looking at doing this before going anywhere near the game boards with a soldering iron! :)

Try Forcefulfil he's had refurbed ARII's for sale in the past.

Lol .no chance of me going near a dedicated game board with a soldering iron
Just wondering if it might be fixable
I'd rather pay the experts to fix them
Il have a look at the ar2 if I can't get a worker

Big thanks to nad (equites) for sorting the ar2s and loom for me
And mark at retroclinic done a good job on the boards
I must of played 50 games there ,I haven't played this in a cab in 30 years
Definetely the only way to play it
