If anything the house owner should have been paying you all danger money to extract anything from that house. What on earth are they going to do with that building, surely it need knocking down and totally rebuilding.

The fact that a lunar lander was left behind by such enthusiasts ,tells me all I need to know about the state of that place !
Very well done on saving the stuff you saved .
Anyone know the total amount of cabs that came back ?

I stripped the lunar lander so I've now got a full kit. The owner was delirious. Really any good human being would have made it properly safe or had some precautions In place. To have everyone go so far and make such an investment and be so blasé about the dangers was just out of order. I should maybe have done some more digging to find out about the state of it and what was there. It was a tricky balance. I don't think any description or photos could really have prepared us for what we found. It took me an hour or so to get my head round to start to moving stuff, after 500 miles and 2/3 hours sleep, it was big kick in the balls.

Stand back lads, now if I can just reach that Lunar Lander back door...

Honestly I wince at the thought of you crawling across that rotten floor, thinking every screw or bolt you undo, the whole lot might drop.

Well done for doing it though.

Fantastic work sorting it all out Supersprint. You're absolutely right about the owner but there's no way you could've known. It wouldn't be something I'd even think to check (if someone is selling something you assume it's accessible). I'm just glad it all worked out and you managed to salvage as much as you did.

Ultimately it was less a raid, more a survival challenge. The video showing a ceiling support beam balanced on a plastic crate gave me the chills. I can only imagine what it was like in there

If anything had happened, the owner would be criminally negligent.
I have the sneaky suspicion someone on DLF was already aware of this place but turned it down?

Well done everyone though!

Can't wait to see the full write-up :)

Can I suggest a Chopper Lift for the lunar lander :)

Really interesting read and watch. Great work from everyone involved. I'm new to all this, but it amazes me that "stashes" like this still exist.

Maybe, but that kind of crazy talk almost guarantees no future raids of any kind for anyone as owners of such death traps with any sense would just destroy the cabs rather than risk being sued, though perhaps they are not quite such sticklers in France?

Whilst there were never any video games there I often pondered the merits of a similarly dangerous trip onto the West pier in Brighton to view what was left of 'laughterland' etc. However someone burnt it to the ground to save me the trouble....

I don't think the owner realised that if something had happened, they'd been in the sh.. - that's all I meant.

Definitely here on mainland Europe - Elf n' Safety isn't at the silly levels it is back in the UK, thankfully.

I reckon we've all done some pretty risky/stupid things in our lives, don't worry about that :)
