Producing Repro Marquees

Im just toying with the idea at the moment of reproducing various marquees.
I have currently produced them for my jamma supreme machine as seen in my members machines posts.

As i have some kit here that could produce this on either on paper or thin coated sheets.

For them then to be placed between two pieces of perspex.

Im just open to peoples views ideas really....

Is there a size limit with your gear? I am after a Klax marquee, are you able to do them so they can be translit?

I would also like a Klax Bezel, I have the artwork for it, but not sure what would be the best method for re-producing it.

Size limit to the machine is 1m by 8m, marquees would be no trouble, on bezels tho, im not 100% how you would do them, i am currently looking into that.

I created my one from 5mm foam board cut to the size needed then printed out the bezel to mount to the foam board.

Shipping them is no problem either. The Marquee would be in a tube

From looking at your pics they look just awesome!!!

I would want loads over the coming year, I could afford a few at a time, say 3-5 per month.

(I have about 40 boards I want marquees for, as I play these in a couple of jamma cabs)

There are various finishes you can have them produced on.

From, Glossy Photo 250gsm paper to self adhesive matt 175gsm, White Film215gsm or even canvas 330gsm

(Im sure no one would want canvas but you never know lol).

What i would recommend is one of these 3:

Photo Gloss, Gloss White Film or Just - Matt if you want to keep cost to a bare minimum.

All finishes work with the back lights, if you want the light to come right through then you would go for the film finish.

All created from artwork files supplied.

No worries as soon as ive a free minute ill be over to fit your BB Marquee!

prob dont help using a camera phone for the photo.

But the inks are UV based run on an Epson 42in roll fed Imagesetter

the cmyk blue break down is this: Cyan 96% Magenta 74% Yellow 0% Black 0%

would there be any samples i could match upto...?

I got the image from joymonkey artwork site so maybe that's wrong?

There were 3 but looked the same colour wise (to me LOL)

but I picked the jpg as it was the biggest and highest quality.

There is a BMP scan of a Bubble Bobble marquee floating around. I think it's about 18MB and being BMP has loss-less compression. There's still the problem of colour reproduction, but maybe if somebody somewhere has an original we can get a Pantone swatch book to them so they can get the definitive Pantone colour codes?

I'm pretty sure I grabbed the BMP when I found it as I lub BB, so if anybody wants me to try dig it out and host it somewhere just let me know.

thanks, the printer is a big ol boy lol and has its own ripping station.

on reproducing the colour, if there are originals available that can be hosted or seen,

i could get pantone references from them, i have all the pantone colour books here.

or if people are just happy how they are then i can run with that too, choice is completely up to the person.

Unless he's sold it, Rav has an original Bubble Bobble cab. Don't know if the marquee is the same or not, I seem to remember that his cab is a Romstar?? Could be totally off on that though.
