Beware the Hillman
I got a control panel off Olly (Alpha1) which he gave for Free last year and i didnt get it till this year and even then not had a chance to do anything with it untill now
I recently aquired a Midi and decided now was the time to restore this panel
I forgot to take a pic of the control panel before, but to give you an idea Olly said it was heavely rusted and needed heavey resto work
He wasnt wrong, and im sure olly will testify how bad it was
so i started by sanding it all down and getting it to bare metal, and thats where you can see the aparent rusting and damage
As you can see the panel is bad even after sanding, there is some real bad gouging on it and the rust has gone deep which i have neutralised
what i am going to do is use a thick car primer that is used for filling scratches and gouges, it goes on slightly thicker and dries smooth
The reason for me doing this Penel restore is so i can 1. have a spare and 2. the real reason because i dont like my original panel
win a price if you can tell me why
