Roby PCB Mounting plate size

I know I got this info from someone once before but I can't find it again now.

I need to buy a sheet of metal to mount the PCBs in the back of my Roby so can anyone give me the dimensions please? I'm talking about an EU Robotron where the sheet is attached in the back of the cab, not on the back door like US models.

If you know the thickness so I'm not guessing that would also be helpful too.

Is that the right link?? That's in the US! The metal workers near the local post office is a lot closer

It's actually tempting as it goes. Like you say, it ain't expensive, even with shipping, but I guess it's still easier to go to the local place first.

Most annoying thing is that I've given two of these things away over the years, now I want one. Typical!

I think so, yes!! Was just thinking about that when Phil posted the eBay link above. The CPU and interface boards are going to be the same, as is the sound board I think, possibly just the ROM board that may be a bit bigger on a Roby isn't it?

A pre-made one would make life easier as it will save me arsing about with PC motherboard mounting stand-offs etc.

OK, have a think about when we could come visit to pick it up. Obviously it's not financially worth an 8 hour round trip to collect a plate of metal but hey, we've barely been out since before Xmas so if anyone's about to have a night out then it would be worth it

My Robotron boards are mounted on a Defender plate. But I've also used the correct (much smaller) Robotron plate to mount the power board/heatsink and sound board.

Cool - A Defender one sounds like it will be fine then. My cab's running off a new switcher with a home made NVRam conversion that I did to go with it so I won't be using the power board. Hopefully I can squeeze the sound board onto the Defender plate.

I know it won't be 100% original but neither will the brand new Wells Gardner monitor either. At least it will work though

dont all the boards from a roby connect to the same place like a defender plate anyway?

i think only the usa ones had seperate plates
