Andy, i see you're getting on with a few bits & pieces lately and now see you've become a Jedi Welder!! Nice job on TB's CP!

Ol, it was a bit of a shed tbh but the price was fair so i couldn't refuse! Got any other sheds lurking? ;) i'm running out of things to do man!!

Dan.... i've got one lined up in the usa, i'm just too tight to pay for it atm.....got the stencils ready to go!! :) Ravs Centipede would have been a nice job though! If i decide sell it i'll let you know :)

Cheers

Al

Cheers Al, sadly I don't have the time/skills to do a decent resto these days (2 kids under 4 will do that for you) so I had to pass on Rav's one. I've already got a stack of tasks that aren't getting done! :)

Hey Dan,

The posters came from an ex Atari employee originally. I got them from a collector who doubled up on these two. I was given first refusal on the Millipede which i took and was then offered the Gravitar so had that also :)

The two Centipede posters are the ones i really want.....there are two variations, one rarer than the other, the first being harder to find than the second me thinks

I brought Donkey Kong home today.....

It was purchased from the Isle Of Man towards the end of last year once owned by Archer Maclean. In fact i purchased two, the other came from Germany and they both arrived almost together. Anyhow, my intention was to restore them both at the same time but work and other stuff has hindered progress on both.

So, I wanted to play DK so I thought i'd restore one at a time, the worst one first, so I wanted to bring one home to play....as you do!

At mums.....

I stripped it ready to work on so had to put it all back together again. Anyhow, the buttons were not original and the Joystick ball was white and it was pretty big in comparison to the originals so replaced both the joystick ball top and buttons as I had a spare complete CPO from a DK Junior....which was nice.

We don't like these.....

But we like these!!

Not sure about the white top but it has an identical thread to the originals

Anyhow, i got the CP to a temporary, playable state and launched it into the van

I hear you...." what's the writing underneath?? "

It's this

and.....it was also signed behind the marquee

07/2002

Anyhow, it landed at home

His mates are on standby

and in.....

Not fired it up yet. Although it was working 100% and the PSU is perfect i prefer to use the switch mode PSU supplied by Arcadeshop.com that has an adapter that allows the original wiring plugs to plug straight in to keep the loom original..... i'll rebuild the original PSU and keep it so the cab can be original again in 5 mins.

Cheers,

Al

The only prob with it Ol is......I had to use mole grips and the vice to remove it from the shaft so it does have a small knick in it from the grips. Your welcome to it though, sure thing. It's fine.

Just had the lounge/games room re-carpeted. Instead of chucking the cut offs I measured some cabs, cut them out and had the edges woven which produced some pretty cool cab mats as the feet on these things just puts those massive dents into the carpet!!

Here's the Joust cocktail one
