Here's what a little watered down spray "Cif" and Fairy liquid can do...

I was given the vector artwork and plan to rip out the old cp/bezel and replace it. Hopefully get the new one screen printed, but there is a bend in the plexiglass. Do you have any thoughts?

Is a real tricky one, good that you have the vector art! seen a few diy vids for bending plexi up on youtube, maybe see if there are any screen printers local, give them a bell and get some quotes.

Hope you enjoy the art, I spent many hours doing it!

As I said in my email, try a sign-writing shop, one that does perspex signs should be able to cut, bend the perspex to our requirements.

Mine turned out perfect.

It's been a while, but I have been working away on the SIp2... although playing on it a lot.

I put together the door I received from LiquidX in Belgium... it needed a
wee paint up and clean, but does the job perfectly. I also got a key
for the lock from a good chap in the States. The lock is a Taito 8000.
P-Man... can get you a copy if you wish.

Here's an update on things:

Guys, I'm struggling here. Things have been going great recently... a
new coin door from LiquidX (thank you) all painted up and fully
restored, my boards repaired and working from Iron Giant in the UK
(thank you), Taito graphics from Etienne (thank you) and to everyone
else who has offered advice (ChrisChris, SuperUlly, Saleem, sorry if I
didn't mention any one).

However, I switched on my SIp2 on
Saturday and after 2 minutes of playing something blew. F@€K!!!!! I
switched it off then back on again. I can here a faint sound from the
speaker, like the sound of the UFO on all the time (this is normal for
my board set as I think I have the volume on too high). So something has
gone. There is nothing on the monitor. What can it be. I do not have a
clue... a fuse? Transformer?

Can you please help me resolve
this... I will not let this get the better of me. Although, I think I
have reached m limit on expertise here... I think I'm better at the
physical visual restoration (woodwork, metal work, etc) than the
internal bits and pieces.

AAAARRRRRRRRRRggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Any advice appreciated!

Try putting a credit on, at least you will know whether board or monitor. My bet is on monitor or hopefully just fuse for monitor.

Andy.

I couldn't get the credit to work. I can hear some sound. You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but I could get the coin mechs to recognise a credit. Do I have to alter the credit board in some way? Is that the board to the left of the coind door?

30 year old boards mate, anything can go at any time, even just after a repair, maybe psu that's why I said see if you can credit so the fault can be isolated easier.

I know... I think maybe owning a "classic" car would be cheaper than trying to run a Space Invaders. I'm not going to give up on her though... needs TLC... and being my first dedicated cab, she will (no doubt) spend all my hard earned cash (which is hard when you run your own business) to get her back up and running

Hi need to ask you a question about the door and lock! I can't find any suppliers that make these parts, could you send me a link on where I would find a door and lock..
Thanks

No one makes them, you have to find originals, Taito used standard keys 7800, 7900 etc. so find a used door with a lock and you can get a key cut.
