Out now - The NewZealand Story tells a tale of a cute little kiwi bird, inexplicably coloured yellow, being murdered many, many times.

Awesome, will give this a listen.

I love The NewZealand Story as anyone who follows me on twitter knows already! Tiki the Kiwi is both the cutest AND most badass video game character of all time. He ain't scared of no leopard seal, he's got fam to save. Legend.

Was a great Podcast as usual chaps, I listened on Wednesday morning, been waiting for you to announce it so I could put my feedback up, haha.

I used to love N.Z.S on the Amiga and C64 back in the day, I did have a bootleg PCB of it at one point, but it was upside down and nothing, not even the dipswitches would change that, so I sold it on, so have never actually played the game on arcade hardware, possibly its on one of those Taito Arcade collections on the PS2 and I've played it there, but not for very long. Does rather sound hard though from your podcast.

Thanks for the tip with regards to setting up my X-Arcade stick, I'll try and get that sorted this weekend, not that it will help me for the Centipede playing, wish my Millipede cab was working, then I could perhaps of played along using the multipede PCB mod.

Keep up the good work chaps.

What sort of acceleration values etc are people using for their mice.
My Logitech G502 gaming mouse is just not working very well for me at all on this :-(

My X & Y Digital speed and sensitivity are on 10 and 50.

Another great podcast lads! I'm going to give the game a go and submit a score this week. Been meaning to for ages, but my Mame cabinet is outside in an unheated garage, so there was no chance over the winter months. Will be playing with a trackball, I tend to have the x&y speed and sensitivity quite high so I don't have to move it much, each game is different though. I think the mouse pointer speed in windows has an effect as well as the analogue settings in Mame.

I have the X / Y speeds on the trackball set to 160, so it's quite fast. Going to test the feel of it against the Arcade Club cab next time I go.

Centipede is very playable with a mouse (as Charliefar will attest). I would imagine that some people will be able to use the mouse to move more accurately than with a trackball.

Hasn't Centipede got a smaller than usual trackball? Have never played
it that much on an actual cabinet, but I'm sure that will make a
difference to how if feels compared to a standard 3inch trackball.

Trying to make centipede Rev 4 play on my MAME but it won't let it. What version of MAME do you use? tried the other revs of Centipede to no success too.

Cheers
Ben

Ignore that, my version was 0.41 or something ultra old got a more recent one and got it working now :) Might be why my stick was not working too.

Great podcast chaps, i had NZS on the C64 back in the day after playing it in the arcades, i was disappointed that the warps didn't work in the home consoles which you mentioned Vic.
I don't remember it being that difficult either, will put more play into it though.

No trackball for the next game so it will be another token 10 mins effort.

Hello 10 pencers!

It's been such a long time since I've given any feedback or anything - I got out of sync over the Christmas / New Year peroid what with having a long holiday etc.

Anyway I haven't forgotten you - long live the podcast I am very glad you aren't doing an arcade outsiders on us ;)

Just catching up on the last episodes now...

New Zealand story - what a great game. Like others I played this on the Amiga, I seem to remember getting to stage 99 but never completing it. My memory is a bit hazy now...
Also I swear the old version I had used to be able to continue, I got another Amiga recently with TNZS and it doesn't continue - what's up with that?

I do remember the first time playing the Rotorua level I found the secret way out to avoid everything but never since, I've not looked it up on the net must do that.
