My OCD isn't that bad for other peoples cabs!! I had enough botheration fitting a different monitor into the F355 cab and starting on an Outrun 2 SP build to put me off touching another cab for a few weeks.

exactly mate you can spend more time messing with these cabs than actually playing them

im leaving them alone for the mo seeing as they all working , you should of just stuck to the gaffer tape on the monitor and saved yourself some time and hassle

It's true, if I counted all the time I've spent tinkering with cabs, it far outweighs the time I've actually spent playing the ones I own! Even after all the heartache and stress, it's a great hobby. Hopefully next year I can take one of the cabs to a local event if transport is available, this year it's not possible due to a number of things.

The monitor was well worth changing though, as much as I like the classy look of gaffer tape, I just don't like the picture quality of the LCD. The 2932 has light burn which cant be seen in game and after sorting out the colour/contrast/focus settings the picture is lovely. I'd post a pic of the F355 but I don't want to derail your thread, so I'll save it for my own thread.

I've just had an hour playing on Initial D v3, I'm liking it more than V2 now. It's such a great game.

Now hurry up and buy Vulcan Venture so I can come around and play it on your Blast City!

yes mate you know how it is with these cabs its like owning a classic car and just taking it out for a spin on sundays , and not thrashing the bollocks off it incase it breaks down

I think if it ever got to the point where I'm scared to turn on the machine in case it breaks, I'm sorry to say thats the point sell up and use emulation. A couple of guys on here have been at that stage and it's just painful to read about never mind experience going through it.

Ravengames had a Vulcan Venture up for sale a while back at 140, I was tempted to buy it but resisted. The last thing I need is to start collecting PCB's.

I've still yet to determine if the Roms or Romboard are shot on that D2, I've not had the motivation to disassemble and test tbh....we do know the Videoboard had issues though. At least you now have your garage back, at a price though......

Well I was eyeing up that Vulcan Venture for at least a couple of months, then it sold and that was that. I'm spent out now, I bought some odds and sods off ebay which I just couldn't stop myself from buying.
