Hi Martin,

Is it possible you could give me a rough idea when you will be delivering the Vewlix L to Cardiff from John Rawcliffe so that I can arrange for someone to be available to receive and pay for it. Easy quick delivery as just reverse into driveway and put it the garage and away you go.

James.

I don't believe Martin reads this thread all that often (probably not at all!) if you need him to do something then your best bet is to phone him. He's always on the road, so texts and emails generally can't be replied to until the evening.

I very much doubt you will get a reply from Martin on this thread. Not sure how often he logs in and reads posts on here.

You're best bet is contacting him directly. Ring first and if he doesn't answer then send him a text.

EDIT: Somehow I thought I was the first person responding to this post, however looks like 2 people above me all said the same already

I haven't had any deliveries for a long time but can't help thinking that if ever Martin wins the lottery and decides to start taking it easy, how will everyone get their cabs? I wouldn't trust them with anyone else, and he is so good at delivering even when you are not home etc, Im not sure how easy it would be to trust other people

Just to add I've had a few cabs delivered by Martin and it's been a top class service throughout. Would definitely recommend him for those times you just don't fancy a road trip.

the delivery man is a good person to look after your pins.

Hi,

Can someone please PM me Martins number please, I’m trying to arrange him to ship something for me but the site says he’s not logged on since last December.

Thanks from Luke

Had a cab delivered last night by Martin. Turns out he lives in the next town over haha. Excellent service and communication from him on the day. Took it to the bottom of my garden into my cabin, with just a little help down some big steps. Had a nice little chat too.

I wish I could have used Martin for this Time Crisis II cab I'm trying to get collected. The seller neglected to mention they wanted it gone immediately so I wasn't able to use Martin. I had to resort to Shiply to find someone and they've been a total nightmare, including neglecting to admit they don't have a tail lift even though I had stated one would be needed. I've no idea how I'm going to get it off his van now.

What makes me laugh about these ‘must go immediately’ jobs is that what are they gonna do with it? It’s a bloody massive machine. Call their bluff or let them deal with it. The only courier who gives a sh*t is Martin.

Is this on shiplys van?

I did sort of call their bluff as they claimed they'd had 'loads of interest', so I suggested they call one of those people and offer it to them.

I spoke to the Shiply guy a little earlier, he was supposed to collect it today (previously it was last Thursday and then he re-scheduled it to Friday) but apparently he's going to collect it tomorrow now. He also doesn't even have any ramps, so I've ordered some off Amazon Prime. I'll have spent more on the delivery than the cab at this rate.

It's good to vent a bit...

Sounds like you did not have much time to arrange, I found that it can take time on Shipley for the decent bidders to turn up and then to review them, ask questions etc.
You may need to describe the item in as antiques or collectables to get the more specialist companies interested. The decent couriers normally list equipment owned, or you can ask them via message so to have proof in writing. The other tip would be to review feedback as it shows the kind of jobs they have been doing most recently.

I've had a few things via europe brought in a van and it's always gone smoothly.

Except for the one chap telling me he had stored my 'BBQ' outside overnight in the rain. (It was a well wrapped cocktail table)

It is true that you cannot beat Martin.

Yeah it was definitely done in a bum’s rush! It was hard getting straight answers too, like confirming they could definitely do the day I wanted and that they had a tail lift, blankets, etc. It’s like they’d avoid answering or give cryptic responses to give themselves an out. I’ve only used Shiply a handful of times over the years and the only time it went really well was with a simple monitor collection.

If there’s a next time, I’ll hopefully be able to spend more time being a bit more choosy.
