Been after a microscope for such a long time, but can't seem to decide which, so in the end don't bother at all.
How do you find trying to solder looking at the screen, rather than the PCB? I've read some people find this almost impossible.
Hi John , I have not tried soldering with it !! I don't think i will be able to as you said. I think my brain will keep fighting me to look at the board not the screen. I am using it mainly to check after I have soldered to ensure I have not bridged any pins (After re working ect) and to check for broken tracks that I keep missing with the necked eye. I dont do many board after 1993 so dont get many with surface stuff but I do CPS1 stuff and have 25 boards to look as so I am hoping this will save me some time.
I have done the same as you spend years looking as there is so many on the market. I chose this as the ones with the base are restricted to size of board, But again there is ltrally 100's of different ones. I threw the dice and just got one , was sick of looking. This one only cost £83 with shipping and tax !! Arrived in a week as well. Quality of the stand is crappy but overall for £83 I could not go wrong realy.
Dave.
