Our Tron is coming along nicely and I found a UK company to source replacement neon light bulbs.

As you can see from the picture below it is _very_ bright so I wonder if we are missing a bit of shield from the light somewhere?

If you look at the second picture below it looks like there's an extra cover or something to make it more purple.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and/or have a spare one with less fading of the colours?

Many thanks!

(Here's one from eBay that had more colour than mine but is clear too)

BTW I've ordered an Enron marquee from it from KLOV just in case anyone didn't know they are making a limited run of some more (*closing the list soon I hear..)

I think also maybe that they are using a different colour of UV tube as it definitely looks more 'purple'

I'm using a Black Light - Fluorescent Blacklight 15 watt T8 450mm - but maybe there is also a 'purple' version as the same people I got the above from have a 'blue' version

Mine:

Blue one:

Even the one shown on Phoenix arcade looks _very_ purple :)

Thanks again!

Do not use the Blacklight white in there! These are not supposed to be used where you can view them directly, they can cause damage to your eyesight. Tron needs the blacklight blue there. This has a filter to protect your eyesight but still give the UV glow in the dark effect.

So would one of these do the trick - and should they both be Blue ones?

Marquee = normal white light
Above Control Panel (that you can see) = Black light Blue

Below Control Panel (behind plexi) = Black light White

Perfect - I'll purchase one of those eBay blue ones, and keep the other white one for spares

BTW forcefulfil - very tempted with a cheeky offer for your Joust, just don't quite think I could sneak it past the better half as I did with the Tron and the Defender

Yep it does look good and I have a complete working boardset ready to go (as well as a spare Stargate loom if I need anything else

)

The problem is that the Tron is in reception in the office, and the Defender is in the main studio (and we have a midi-Miss Pacman in the kitchen) so sneaking a Joust in while the team aren't watching might be a little difficult

Still I'll send you a PM separately and we can discuss

If you need a hand taking any part of it apart ping me, as the top control panel glass needs secure alen keys to unbolt (£4.99 odd on eBay)

I'm also in need of 5 x board connecting leads and correct size spacer plugs if anyone has recommendations for my spare board set(s)

Thanks again!
