Underrated games?

So, i very rarely hear people talking about some games that we all love, and i sometimes wonder if they are underrated or i have my blinkers on at the time

Silkworm - i absolutely adored this game and have fond memories of it, yet i barely hear it mentioned ever, even better if you had a mate, it was just a natural evolution of games like Army Moves but in the arcade

Time Pilot - now this game i remember from it being in a caravan park we used to visit every year, and i still remember the sounds to this day, another that doesn't really get mentioned a lot

be curious to see what you consider hidden gems that don't get spoken about a lot

A game i had never seen before and never heard it mentioned was 'Toffy' , Its a fantastic game very very addictive ! So I suppose you can say its underrated as now one knows what it is !

Raiga: Strato Fighter. Relaxing at first then it starts kicking up the difficulty. Nice feeling of frantically slamming ammo into the bosses and larger objects. Pucker soundtrack and sound effects.

I've always been rather partial to Spider-Man the arcade game. It doesn't get mentioned that often it seems.

Definitely under appreciated. I still think that should have been a launch title for the Saturn along with a perfect 4 player port of Data East's Captain America and the Avengers

this one looks great, we had a period didnt we were lot of games had upgradeable ships with all different weapons and stuff, i remember X-Out coming out and i was super excited for it and couldnt have been more disappointed in a game

Funny one that.remembering silkworm as a kid was a vivid memory,it was so good,then later on in life replayed as an adult and sadly found it to not be as good as remembered.dont think it was the blinkers for me as i recall it being epic at the time.dunno.wierd one for me

Slap fight aka alcon.only ever played it at my local arcade and never saw it anywhere else (and i used to travel far and wide for arcades).also mutant night,only ever played in blackpool but never seen anywhere.love both games though but rarely gets any mentions.still play them today and for me personally,they still hold up.

3 early 80s fun and fairly simple games which for us ALL 3 appealed to younger players over several years earning big returns by comparison to some others

Namco …. “MAPPY” 1983 ….
Universal ..”SNAPJACK”. 1981… had 2 very popular but not often mentioned.
Universal…. “ NOVA 2001” 1984 more skilful very addictive in seaside locations.

Sadly these games only died with the advent of jamma cabs mainly as ours were in generic Century woody cabs built in Lancashire to meet 80s market demand and I think I only bought the MAPPY because the cab I went for had sold earlier in the day….money in pocket .. turned out a good ‘blind buy’ luckily?

Every Sunday morning, I scoot off to play some Jr. A bit different, with the side scrolling makes it interesting, especially when you can't remember where the last effing dots are to clear the board!

Great game, with an unfamiliar ghost called ' Tim! '

Another game programmed by the very cool ' General Computer Corporation '

Love it!

Never played Slap Fight in the arcade back in the day but had it on C64 in The Taito Coin-Op Hits collection and loved it.
