Re configuring a usb 4tb drive just to use to drop some files on for my misters fpga.

Now when I go to drop a file on to my
Fully updated update_all script

Sd card I get the lovely ..

This storage device is write protect please remove the write protection

So AI has guided me on how to write a new command into the registary ..
( no idea if it is correct as values was like
00. 000000. 00 0
And AI said it needs to be 0

Só do I delete all the other 0’s ?

Or is it possible to remove a wrote protection ?
I mean I have just actually formated and dropped the GitHub update all script onto this sd card it’s only now that I cannot do sweet fã to it?🤣

With some brands I've found this mean the card is borked, you can still read what's on it, but nowt else.

What type of SD card is it?
I remember some having a little slider on the side to lock them.

Assuming micro SD the physical write protect is on the side of the adapter. I have a couple that are loose and temperamental. Maybe try another. If not I think you can switch off write protection in disk part.

Funny thing is ..
I have a feeling if i cloned a card to this card it would work .

At least it’s working with what it has on it ..
I will be gratefull for that and start again with another card ..

My usb drive has stopped being recognised by my laptop ..

Bios on laptop has just gone up the spout as well ..
Not sure I can get to the bois battery without removal of the entirr rear case .

Yeh it’s either fake or just failing.

try the official SD Card Formatter tool
it can sometimes recover cards, and reset it's size to the true size. especially if its a fake one thats really only 128GB for instance

I have that .
It must be a fake card ..
It had other issues also ..
No drive letter was assinged to the usable partition of the mr fusion image in windows .

I used diskpart
List volumes
Select x
Assign=M

Which worked
Só my pc now sees the partition
But won’t let me drop files into it .

The slider on the SD cards does nothing to the SD card itself. It pushes an switch inside the SD card slot. Maybe the switch is broken?
Sort of like the write/record prtection on old audio tapes.

I kept wondering why I couldn't delete the photos on my Panasonic camera or Cut and paste them like the older one, hadn't took the card out since fitted years back, one day I took it out to use in another camera and thought doh it's got the switch on it in protect mode
