Paypal as a seller

I dont really very often sell stuff, but am wondering what protection i have as a seller via paypal goods and services.

I have a few things for sale and just want to make sure when my items drop, im not getting someone at the other end saying item was defective and asking for a refund.

I have sent the buyer videos but havent really ever sold much and had payment via paypal when it hasnt been via ebay

Others will have more experience than me as I hardly ever sell stuff but it is a worry. I've just sold a console game on Ebay and I hate the idea that they could damage it then say they received it broke and I'll have to take it back broken, or what happens if they say there was no game in the case?

If it's on here I'd ask for PayPal friends and family as a seller. I've always bought stuff paying friends and family on here and never had a problem. Having said that I would never buy off a new member with pp friends and family.

Yeah, it's now on here, I've done lots of deals on here buying with no issues at all.

This a fb sale, it's not a pricey item, just cautious of people trying to scam and wondering how I may be protected.

To protect yourself against any possible claims, you need to send the item tracked and enter the tracking number in your PayPal account.

Pray to the FleaBay gods that the buyer is not a ****.

Only today I found out that even the delivery guys on places like Shiply get screwed.

Sad times in the world.

I sold a cab £1000
PayPal .
Buyer did excactly that .
Said it was broken on arrival .
Luckily I made a video of it working
With the courier company in the video,

Which I provided to PayPal once they began there own investigation.
The buyer even threatened to take me to court.
I also included a pcb for free for good will as he told me it was his first ever cab(. Found out after this was a lie)
But in the end 8-10 weeks PayPal found in my favour. I do believe the video of cab working may have been the bit of evidence that was integral.

So I would say take photos and video
Dated . Maybe have a news paper in if vid/photo is not date stamped.
And then PayPal can give you protection on the whole they have been fair over the years …
But twice I have also lost out from goods being delivered smashed and I did not have evidence it was ok when it left me.. so take pics & vids

Yeh I think PayPal protects buyers and sellers alike quite well I have found generally

Yep, videos and pics every sale.
Expensive electronics in the post to a stranger is a nightmare.

if the buyer is a knob , your screwed.

Example , you sell an £800 pc. The seller says it " not as described " and you have to pay return postage. The buyer sends you an empty box back. Ebay favours seller and you are left with an £800 empty box. This angers you and you want to leave nefative feedback , well you cant.

PS2 plus 52 games to Texas usa
They sent me back just the ps2 and keept the games ( I assume I guess they could have been lost or stolen in post ). But then that’s another thing eBay doesn’t protect sellers from as well as knobs

My ring doorbell saved the day when a seller sent me a tracked piece of plain paper rather than a CD storage unit !! Gave the evidence to a number of parties ! Took ages and lots of aggro though, mine was the principal not the price. He had purposely defrauded me , so F you I won't give up !
