EBay Win Super Monaco GP - Resolved

Hi all, first post here, unfortunately it’s not as exciting as it should be!
Last night I Won a Super Monaco GP on eBay which I was very happy about, contacted the seller and then received an email saying the sale is cancelled!!
He obviously wasn’t happy with the sale price so pulled the plug on me!!
Really gutted to be honest and also annoyed someone can list an item on eBay then just pull the sale if their not happy with the end price.
Anyone else have this issue before??

Shame it wasn’t honoured. At the end of the day if you list something at no reserve you take your chances!

Agree, watching it all week, messaged the seller etc then bid, won, then he cancelled, gutted!

Always disappointing when sellers cancel, although I suspect you’re better off looking for a cab on the forum than risking ebay.

Well you might assume so but he’s an active member here apparently, I’m not sure but on eBay it’s - Nurtuo

If they use the same user name he is a member on here have you DM him to see what he is looking for, I guess was not happy with the price it went for, bit bad form pulling it after winning.

Doesn't sound the sort of person you'd want to do business with anywhere.

Agree if you have a min amount put on a reserve, else take the rough with the smooth

Yeah I'd agree, it's annoying but it's par for the course on eBay. I've got a thread somewhere where i'm ranting about the same thing happening to me.

What these ebay sellers don't realize is that with a bidding auction it only bids up enough to beat the last bid.
A buyer might be happy to play a lot more to get a cab but if no one else is bidding then it's going to sell for the price of the initial price.

If they list a cab starting at £1 and a buyer really wants it they could bid £2000 but if there's no other interested parties it's going to finish at £1.

OK... I might get shot down in flames for this reply... and to put it in context... I have never actually not followed through on an ebay final sale price....

But.... ebay charge quite a lot for setting a reserve. So is it so bad to "work round" their fees? If the seller had set a reserve, you still wouldn't have won the auction and ebay would be bit richer.

Have to agree with this. Even thought reserve fees are a pain, dont list at a 99p start with no reserve if you're not willing to sell it for 0.99p if only one person bids on it.
