Moving onto Lockup Number 2, a garage at a new house we are currently renovating (the house not the garage), and I have a couple of more recently acquired cabinets in here....not really a surprise but including these so I have a full record of all my cabs and PCBs.
First up I have a lovely and fully operational Moon Patrol, bought during lockdown but only recently delivered. I wanted this one for the amazing cabinet design as much as the gameplay, although I did play this a lot back in the day.

I’d rather think of it as a grand a year to support my hobby, and it’s cheaper than an Arsenal season ticket!
or 10k paid off the mortage

If I had 10 cabs plus and paid 10k over 10 years and the price of the machines was now worth 10x what I paid It wouldn't bother me lol

I know it's not possible for everyone to have a place to put it all, timing is not always on your side, depends how much you would have to pay for all the items you have now, or if you can even find some of the cabs to buy.

Great to see someone else unearthing goodies they have stored away, I still find stuff I had forgot about or don't even remember buying, only a few months back I thought I wish i'd bought simpsons pcb and then moving stuff about I found a box with one in

Investigated a new location yesterday, a recently (last 12 months) rented room in a storage warehouse in Essex, mainly to store my non-arcade retro gaming collection, which had to go as we ran out of space in the old house to have a dedicated room. But there could be some arcade stuff in here too…

A lot of plastic storage boxes in here, mainly old consoles and physical cartridges, including a very large collection of boxed Atari VCS / 2600 games. I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to collecting and I love the box art on these old Atari carts, I reckon I have over 100, including all of the arcade ports.

Also in here is my handheld game collection, mainly VFD, LED and some LCD games from Grandstand, Tomy etc. I did have them all on display at one point but my retro room had to make way for children who insist on having somewhere to sleep. No arcade stuff yet…

If you find a copy of Tetris for the Megadrive, it's mine I left it there.
Nice try! I do have a Tetris PCB, bought for my builder who reckons he’s an expert. This one is missing Blue, or at least the cable on the Supergun is knackered and I need to resolder on a new Scart connector.

Haha, awesome.

I had a builder in recently who swore up and down he had been on the look out for a Streets of Rage 2 arcade machine. I can only assume he was referring to the Mega Tech cabinet, about a week after we had that conversation one came up for sale. I did send him the link, I wonder if he bought it.

Some arcade goodness uncovered here though - remember the Sega Missile Command PCB? Well I knew I had some other components from the cocktail cabinet (which has long been skipped due to transit damage BITD), and I found the control panels with the correct track-ball and buttons. I‘ve been looking everywhere and I can only find one example of a complete cocktail cabinet online, so I think this could be an interesting project, if there is a similar donor cabinet from Sega somewhere.

This thread has made me want to get a storage unit.
Don't. You convince yourself it'll only be temporary whilst you're sorting stuff out but before you know it you've filled that one and are pricing up bigger and bigger units.
Because I REALLY NEED that cabinet (although I've got nowhere to put it) and I REALLY NEED those 5 spare CRTs (although I've got nowhere to put them) and I REALLY NEED all those broken boards (because one day I'll sort them out and fix them. One day. Soon.)

The artwork was always much better than the games themselves.

Moving on to lockup, or rather location number 4, a garden room at the back of the house which has ended up being a bit of a dumping ground for WIP kit. And the most WIP of all my kit is this Star Wars Arcade machine, complete with obligatory broken WG6100 vector monitor. Apart from a brief blissful spell in 2019, where it worked for all of 15 minutes before it caught fire (again), this had been playing blind since I got it in 2015.

I've obtained a reproduction HV board and deflection board, as well as a replacement yoke (the one fitted is from an Empire Strikes Back) and plan to get this up and working if it kills me (I also got a massive HV probe to discharge the monitor so at least that bit wont kill me).

Another classic Vector game, also broken, is my Battezone Cabaret. Worked for a while after buying from someone on here, then major parts of the games started disappearing, like enemy ships then tanks. Now it won't show anything on the screen at all. One more for the project list.
