Just wondered if many still have proper old Separates they listen to music on or like my brother Alexa and Echo subs or what ever there called or these Sonos are they? I have no idea on anything modern
I had early 2000s Technics Dolby Pro-Logic amp which was last new one I bought and 3 head tape deck, CD Player but when I used to pick up 2nd hand stuff all the time I got old Technics 315 system with SU-7 Amp which is like the full size Power Amps with the big Analogue meters but Midi system which started me off wanting older Technics again
So I sold all the later 2000s stuff and kept this, I used to have a Technics SU-V9 when I was about 18 which had Super Bass and this had also but just switch instead of dial, when I picked up some Celestion Ditton 442 I was pretty impressed with the amp and speakers, the super bass really is good on decent speakers and even without it on loud its way better than any modern amp with loudness and standard tone controls, I bought another SU-V9 but then went for the top early 80's Technics with the SU-A6mk2 pre amp which has Super Bass and Treble and SE-A5mk2 with big analogue meters so you can really enjoy the music fully, sold the Ditton 442 and went for the top model 662 which are superb for bass and managed to bag some cheap Technics Monitor 2s which were only made to order i found out, you can certainly appreciate all the old rave, techno, drum & bass etc with this
Some are always buying new Hi-Fi gear but I more than happy with what i've got and have no reason to change it. I have newer 7.2 amp for watching movies but even that has all early 80s Technics Honeycomb speakers apart from the subs
So what are you using for your music these days?
